what do you think about it in general? do you think there should be a harsher punishment for people who do participate in it? what about the people who just watch, do they deserve to be punished for it also? what is your opinion about street racing and the people who do it? _________________ I am TheCheat |

my friend matt got a $300 ticket for just being in the car with someone who got caught street racing.
there is a place near me that was going to be a highway, that never got finished. its 4 lanes, 2 miles long, just about completely straight, with a turn around at the end. soooo many people wreck there from racing. a dude wrecked his viper and died, so now the cops are all over it, but sometimes in the summer people race on sunday nights. overall its sweet to watch, but waaaay too risky to do. _________________

there was a newspaper article here not to long ago, describing how after a crash the driver got thrown from the car, went about 20 ft along the road, and ended up on the side of a tree.... what I won't forget is the mom's quote, "At least he died doing something he loved" ... I don't know, but my guess is someone didn't love bouncing on concrete.....
this guy's friends, some of em, are the ones that later did the southern maryland arson case thing...... so yeah... just from that alone, i am thinking definitely not a good thing to be involved in.... _________________

I've always lived my life by the rule,"You have the right to do anything as long as you do not jeapordize another person."
You can go as fast as you want, do all the dumb stunts that you want, audition for the Darwin Awards as often as you want as long as you don't endanger another.
Street Racin' ain't cool. _________________

how do people wreck there when they know the turn is coming up and its closed off from other people driving cuz its not finished? shouldn't buy a viper and not know how to drive it.
i think street racing is idiotic. like sully said, kill your self all you want, but dont jepordize innocent people driving on the roads. go to a race track if you want to race. _________________ R.I.P. Blue |

Thats what they make 1/4 mile tracks for. I spent many of summer's at Sears Point Raceway when I was younger. It is always the safest way of racing and $15.00 is not much to pat for safety IMO. During the summer on Wed. nights that where you would find me. It's alot of fun and you meet lots of good people doing it. Racing on the streets you never know whats going to happen or what lies ahead of you so I don't recommend it what so ever. Take it to the track where it belongs. Where they have all the medical help and all the safety measure's to make it fun. _________________ <eVa>Simpleman-V$=<RIP> |

Exactly. In fact the cops down here would somethimes give tickets to the raceway for people caught racing. So they would have one free admission to try it out. Anyway, I have been to some wrecks involved with racing and I will tell you that you are better off not participating. _________________

This is what the San Diego PD did to try and get street racing off the street other cities should try this. I think this is the only way street racing should even be attempted. You risk your life and others in such a meaningless way with illegal street racing.

Street Racing is deff not the safest sport, but what make track racing any safer? If you flip ur car at a track or on the street, they both have the same damage potential. And u can still hurt or kill the guy next to u. I don't think street racing is right, and those who get cause should get fined, but for those who have nutthing to do with it, and are just watching or happen to be near it, get ticketed i think thats bs. _________________ Death Before Dishonor :: Semper Fi :: 1st Marine Division 3rd Tracks Bravo Co. |

I have always enjoyed street racing but my cars have never been modded enough for them. Nothing gets me going like being stupid in a really fast car. |

Everyone on the track takes the risk willingly, while random people in the streets do not. _________________
