seriously that pisses me off. i think the guy should get a lot more than 4 little yrs. hell break his arms off and beat him in the face with them and see how he likes it. and to top it all off i think he robbed the guy of his cell phone. that really pisses me off and put his little b***h of a girlfriend in jail to for starting it. let the guy sue them for all the money they have for that stupid crap....

omg wtfh is wrong with people???? omg.... I don't care if he would have beat me too, I would have tried to get between them. No one, for almost any reason, deserves to be treated like that... omg. What is sad, is I know that this is not just a one time thing, for the guy that did it, or for any number of people around the world. People have problems, and no one seems to really care, I mean, 4 years??? Do you really think that 4 years will change how this guy deals with people? .... didn't think so. Not only will it not change how he reacts in the future, it is not a just punishment. ..... and the people around this, wth is wrong with them?? Do they have no feelings? I mean, my jaw dropped, I wanted to get in there and stop it, but they just sat their, the worker through his/her hands up in a "well, what can we do? who cares?" kind of gesture.... wow... isn't it your duty/responsibility to try to stop? good samaritan type of thing??? I mean, how could you not try?? You outnumber the guy, plus it is the RIGHT thing to do.

Yeah, the people around there are just toolz. Too bad this didn't happen here in AZ.

1, all the people standing around could get charged with a crime for not helping that guy out. What happened if his injuries killed him? Yeah, they would all be considered acessories since the only thing they did to help was move out of the way.

2, AZ is a right to carry state. So with that, if you witness a person being harmed in a manner that is life threating and they cannot defend themsleves, you have the right to use deadly force to stop the interaction.

Some may not feel the way I do but this is just rediculous. I just hope when he goes to jail he acts all big and bad and they show him who the real punk is. #alien

Something tells me that enormous black guy would have beaten the crap out of anyone who tried to help anyway. I'd say he could have probably taken on everyone in there at the same time and still came out on top no problem.

He got what he deserved though with 4 years in prison (prolly be out in 1). Prison ruins your life in every way possible. The woman should get jail time as well.

That (the people not helping) reminds me of the Kitty Genovese murder in the late 60s

She was stabbed in a street, outside apartments, it was witnessed (in parts) by no less than 38 people and yet not one did anything to help her. The attacker was interrupted by a shout from the apartments but returned 5 minutes later and stabbed her again, raped her and killed her. The whole thing lasted about 30 minutes.

About 45 minutes after the attack started (i.e. 15 minutes after she was dead) someone called the police who were on the scene in 2 minutes.

I was going to cite a wikipedia article about this but I didn't like it because it seemed to be trying to fight against the social psych theory that came out of it, which I believe is valid.
