make sure that in your BIOS you have a sound card selected, thats what was makin my system all F'ed up

Yea there should be an option in your BIOS to turn the onboard sound on and off.

niot sure about this, if theres a jumper on the MB for the sound make sure it's placed right. otherwise look in your bios to turn it on and if it still doesn't work then. d/l the latest drivers for it. it's probably realtek ac97. just google for it.
