Make sure that none of the little nipples that you attach the MB are touching . That happened when I did mine. Just make sure there are no extra ones that are there that will short out your MB.
Nipples = standoffs
Hope this helps _________________ <eVa>Simpleman-V$=<RIP> |

Make sure your heatsink/fan is on your cpu snug. Might be heating up and shutting down. Give us specs on what you have as far as processor, vid card, how many drives, etc. PSU may not be strong enough. _________________ - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - |

Check your BIOS for a low automatic shutoff temp. _________________

try unpluging all drives, and anything that your powersupply is connected to besides the motherboard. it could be a bad drive that caused it all. make sure ram is compatible too. take out all cards but your video card and try it.
try all things individually so you can see which it is that causes it. hope this helps. |

if your computer goes up past bios and then say goodnight I have a thought.
I had that happen when I installed my new mb, I had to reformat my hard drive to get it to work. _________________ P4E @ 4.00 Ghz, LeadTech 6800GT 420mhz/1.16Ghz, 1 gb Corsair PC 4400, Creative X-fi, Raptor

well it seems you fixed the turning off problem. as for sound, does windows recognize your card? does it show a little speaker icon in the tray? dumb thing here, but make sure you plugged the speakers in the right plug. sometimes i read the back of the card upsidedown and i plug the speakers into the mic spot. also make sure both the MAIN and WAV are unmuted. but if windows doesnt recognize your card, go to Device Manager (press CTRL+BREAK or right click on my computer then properties) then go to Hardware tab then go to Device Manager. If there is anythign tha thas ayellow exclamation next to it under Other Devices or Sound, Video and Game Controllers, its probably a driver issue. give more info and i might be able to help. |

Those drivers should have been included with the CD that came with the MB. I had issues when I first installed mine too. I just took it step by step and made sure everything was installed properly. _________________
