Ban list how big

I've been thinking about how long the Ville has been operating now. Can someone enlighten me.
I've also been wondering how large the Ban list has grown.
Now here comes the fun part. If one of you admins post how long the Ville has been operating and any pertinent information or a time frame to guess to. We can all guess at how many people have been banned to date. Yes we can all finialy see just how many Llamas there are out there. We can run the post for a week or so letting everyone have a chance to post than the one coming closest WINS. Maybe as a prize they can have there name on the front page with Worlds greatest Llama spotter or something cool to that effect.

Interesting question there, in the new patch coming out (1108) there is a fix for the banned id file to allow more than 1024 id's, I dont know if we have been having problems by hitting that number or not.

I do know that these servers have been here for quite some time in one version or another. As I understand it first there was turkeyburgerville, followed by a short stint as warpathville, then avantiville and now just theville.

I started playing turkeyburgerville back in the spring of 2000, and came on as an admin back in October of 2000 when the show was ran by a fellow named Eddie Munster. Back then the abuse by campers in turkeyburgerville was huge, so thats when I offered to help out. I dont know how big the banned list was then, but I do know it was growing rapidly due to the sheer amount of camping of respawns that was going on.

Now that I think about it, with the additional admins that are with us now I would bet that llamas are being banned more quickly and more often, so we could be coming close to that 1000 player limit.

Hmmm, what if the admins were paid a bounty for each bad player that was banned? I know I would be in it for the money. Picture the following conversation during a game.

Player "whats the next map?"
JD "the command is nextmap"
Player "next map"
JD "Thats it, your being an asshole, learn to type on someone elses server, your banned"
JD - adminban player
JD "woo! thats 45 players I have banned in the past 2 hours, damn my bounty check is gonna be huge this week"

well for the record, we have 1059 active bans, but 1389 total (the difference is people who werw unbanned or only a temp ban).
