Why don't you play TV5

This more than likely should go into the DOD folder but more people read the GR one so it is going here...

I am curious as to why people don't play TV5? TV1 and 4 in the afternoons and into the night remain to be a constant but for some reason Tv5 never seems to get any if much foot traffic. We put some bots in there and yet still no one shows up...the bots blow up too literally.

So I am opening the floor to anyone and everyone on suggestions on how to get foot traffic into TV5 so we can have constant traffic on all of our DOD servers.

P.S. No comments like Sully smells...its has been well documented and reported thank you.

I like TV5. There's a lot less lag than the other 2. I dunno why people dont play there.

Jr. goes in there all the time to blow things up ....lol I have seen him in there for a couple hours at a time with only a couple connecting. He likes to blow things up so he runs around killing all the bots....lol I'm starting to be able to sit for longer periods of time so I should be spending a little more time on the servers is I can stay awake

i know that as a regular along with many of the other regulars seem to go to TV1 because it is full of other regulars. i like playing with reb and rANC and squirrel and all the other guys i pwn so well.

it seems like TV5 is usually a bunch of noobs who are no fun to play with. sometimes it isnt even a bunch, just like 5 or 6 people total, and that sucks too. full servers are best to play in. i wouldn;t mind playing at TV5 at all if it were more than a few unknowns. TV1 is just the place i guess.

p.s. cool things like "glow[color]" would make it sweet.

I would like to see some custom maps on there.
Sometimes I get tired of the same rotation on #1 and #4.
It would just be a good change of pace.

as much as i like custom maps unfortunally they just don't fly here...when jfet and i owned tv7 it was 24/7 custom maps and before the end it didn't get much traffic if any..until shortly before we closed its doors...but by then it had been running almost a year maybe more.

perhaps theville should adopt the "server forwarding" method that frenchy's pit uses. I know I personally don't like being automatically forwarded to a server I didn't choose, but there were times when I was forwarded to a different server and I stayed because there seemed to be a decent amount of people and the map was interesting. If nothing else, it will help get the word out(broadcast to the general community) that TV5 is open for business.

Other than that, schedule some more events to be hosted on TV5 and have the admins help promote it as an available server for regular game-play too.(I usually jump to TV4 when flash comes up on TV1, but I guess I could start attempting the jump to TV5)

I usually don't play on a server unless someone I know is on. TV5 is a good server, though.

I think it would be cool to try for greater realism. Specifically:

1. Friendly fire = ON
2. Death messages (the top right corner) = OFF (Also, cap announcements off)
3. Class limits, tight ones (one sniper, two total MGs (MG-42x2 or -42 & -34)
4. Blood mod! (TV I had this ages ago... it's not necessarily more realistic but it helps make up for turning the death messages off)

It's radical, but I don't know of anywhere like it. (Granted, I don't stray from the ville often enough to know too many other servers...)

Barring all that, give it a map rotation that's fixed (like TV I) but don't include STURM

!!! That'll get me to play there every time I see TV I is on Kalt or Sturm.
