hey all. i havent played any PC games in over 6 months because my computer is "dead". one day it just stopped working, and i havent had the time or money to put into it until now. when i turn it on, the lights come on, and the processor fan spins, but nothing else happens. i've swapped out the hard drive with one that i know for a fact works, but still nothing happens. i asked the resident computer geek here at work and he said my processor is probably fried. ( i ran my computer for weeks at a time when i wasnt home and it was in a confined space) i want to fix my computer so i can get back into gaming, but i dont want to spend a ton of money. so my question is, should i just buy a pentium 4 and plop it in or should i buy a new motherboard and have everything professionally installed? any advice would be appreciated _________________

I would say go with just get a new P4. Just dont do what I did, I got the prescott by accident, so I had to get a new motherboard (Though now I am not complaining, I love my Prescot P4 3.0ghz with HyperThreading and Asus P4P800 SE motherboard) _________________ http://www.barbertonrhps.com - The offical Website for Barberton's West Theater Rocky Horror Picture Show in Ohio
