Do you have advice on how getting the best image possible
and still not affect the ping (I average 61)?
And what is your setting?
Thx

Here my setting...

Screen:
17" LCD Seanix
Resolution set at 1024X768 (32 bits color)

Steam video option:

Renderer OpenGL (dunno what this is?)
Display Normal
Resolution set at 800X600
Color set at Medium (16 bit)

Video card:
Radeon 9200SE Series

What are your FPS? (type "net_graph 3" in your console and look at the bottom of your screen). It's up to you to decide on a good balance of speed and quality.

I think they said it is best to play in the same res as your desktop. Changing it will not affect your ping, just your FPS. I have a Radeon 9600 and run NS at 100 fps, so you should be able to run it in just about any res and get a good frame rate still

set your color to 32bit and id say try putting your res to 1024x768. after you do that come back here and tell us your fps.

also, especially for people with high fps, right click on your desktop>properties>settings tab>advanced>Monaitor tab>check the hide modes this monaiter can not display box>select the highest #hertz

this is your monaitors max fps. for some reason windos sets 60 as default, even though the higher it is, the better it is for your eyes . set the max fps in all of your games to whatever the # it is you set it to. i think the command is fps_max. if your fps is higher then the monaitors refresh rate, itll flicker and stuff(i don't know what exactly happens, but its bad )

In OGL, you can set your max_fps higher than your refresh rate. D3d you keep it the same. In Tfc I have max_fps set to 100, in OGL, which it stays steady, but my monitor is set to 75hz. Much clearer in 2d for my old eyes.
