ok heres the real reason for v-day.
SPEND MONEY GET THE GIRL
the only good thing i did for a girl was switch days with a friend of mine so he could spend the day with his girl...he owns me big time now and i will collect...maybe some quality time with his girl on the day he got from me.....muhahahahahhahahahahahaha

Like I said in my post.... no matter how positive you think your outlook may be, or how hard to try and make it work... this day is always some sort of a letdown. It's the worst holiday ever. |
By that I meant it felt like any other day, neither good nor bad, I had actually forgotten, I woke up and didn't think anything of it. Just did my thing, and someone told my Happy Valentine's day, I was like, oh that is today, lol, you too. I don't know, just seems weird, I think it is just because it is my first Valentine's day out of school (because you know how in elementary everyone made cards for everyone, then middle you get the cute ones occasionally from friends cuz it is funny and so cliche to send em, and then in hs you get to watch everyone else getting flowers or balloons, reminded me of a freak show, and then out of hs, I still managed to do something "special" (out of the ordinary) with someone. ) This year, was just ... different, I didn't do anything "special" except talk to two people very very early this morning, then just a normal day, so, I don't feel like I am missing out on anything, nor do I wish my day was different, just was observing. But I can see why it can be disappointing, I do not wish to make anyone think I don't respect anothers opinions, I really do. I can see both the good and bad of such a commercial holiday. But nowadays, what holiday hasn't been commercialized? oh well. Pardon my ramblings, what I get for rambling in forums rather than in game, so off I go to play  |
Why do you always apologize when you express your opinion? I think in almost every thread recently from you... you've apologized in some form. You really shouldn't feel the need to apologize to anyone for expressing yourself.... even if the person you are talking w/ doesn't agree with you. And something MUST have been off for you to comment that it doesn't feel like Valentine's Day.... because I still don't understand how the day is "supposed" to feel.
Just as I don't think you have the need to keep apologizing, I don't apologize either. I think this stupid holiday stinks, and I am glad it's over. I did manage to have a very nice time w/ my hubby though but that doesn't change my opinion on this holiday.
And Speaker, that was a very sweet thing for you to do. Forget about your buddy's girl and find one for yourself tho

| The fudge is going down well, and there will be enough to last us both all week. I certainly prefer it to the obligatory (for many others) dining out, flowers and all that. |

how each individual presents themselves to the world is based on their culture, how they were raised, this is what I have learned. I do apologize a lot, but hey, I am trying to change a little. Give me time. Things that have been acknowledged as "truth" and "right" are hard to just switch off.
