It's _special2 for all of the classes now. And I love the Medic toys. It's about time we could do something. The crowbar launcher is awsome, and the Grenade shield is even cooler. I blew Rob up about 5 times...

I still think the farting noise, when you build those grenade shields, are very distracting. It always breaks my concentration when I'm about to embark on a serious kill.

hallo...
Just did about 2+ hrs on 4... here's my take on it
soldier's helicopter - mostly a novelty (lots of ppl going "ooh" and "ahh" and WTF?!") right now, but was used successfully once to whack an SG before gates opened on avanti
crowbar shooter - took me by surprise (litterally), looked like it was shooting halos/rings ??
demo's landmines - killer dinner plates - gave me a reason to bind a key to "detspecial".. didn't manage to kill anyone though...
pyro's assisted jump - might be just enough to get you out of the way of something in an emergency
medic's anti-grenade thingy - same thing as sniper's anti-missle, plus it hands out health as a bonus.
llamacage - no admins around, and no one being llama-ish to test it on
On a related topic, i decided to ditch the cow/chicken MG models, (deleted them, let server re-dl) but now I have a regular MG for the tesla, not the usual ringed tower & ball looking thing... anyone know how to get that back ? :|

I just was fiddling around with it, heres what i think.
The medic Hive hand thing?? Awsome. I like the fact that there are becomming more constructions, etc... Then again, i was a big tribes player before TFC, and those had fully working, automated bases, so, i'm biased. But even still, now that they can have a health dispenser per medic and engy. Never before was your team so healthy.
Apache: Ugh. The best use for that is enough for me to dive bomb someone and hope the blast does damage. Plus, it's just like the remotes only worse: You can send it over walls and such. Bleh.
MGs not shooting spies: This i don't like, i have to admit. (If it's set like that, didn't have a chance to test it.) I think the spies once again have a cake walk in most games with out the MGs shooting at them... But that's just my opinion.
Demomans mines: Heh. They can be of use sometimes. (Planting them on packs and such and waiting for the other team to step on them.
Pyros jump: Awsome... though the Armor cost is a bit steep. Oh well. I like it, but it doesn't work well unless you are aiming upwards and jumping off a cliff/ledge.
MGs: I don't like the cow models, but i do like the fact you get a read out. (Or at least a note when it's damaged.)
The sniper flash bangs rock. It's like a conc, only better. Imangine if you flashbanged -and- conced a HW? I'd beat him to death with a crowbar just because at that point.
Still want to see the crowbar MG... Oh, and the fact the Sniper anti missle pods are packs now instead of the batteries is nice. Drop that in a field of packs, and... well, hope an engy with an EMP doesn't show up.
The laser rockets also work better now, so, that's cool. And faster.
Think i may be forgetting something, but, that's all i know off. (And the llama cages, but, well...
In conclusion; If the apache could be dumped, perhaps in exchange for the old remote Rockets, it would be awsome. (Yea, i kinda liked the old rockets, when people didn't be cheap with them and put them over the gates before they opened. So sue me. )
And that, as they say, is that.

My own choice would have to be to kill it completly. Reason is that I think it takes away from the skill level, not that I have any, of the players. It seems to me that tfc is supposed to be a team challenge to achieve a goal and not have to worry about a mg taking out a spy under-cover, which is what he is supposed to do. Having a helicopter flying through the mazes or planting landmines, etc. If you keep the neo's maybe put them on one maybe two servers and keep the rest clear and let us challenge each other, not some thing-a-ma-bopper. Just my thoughts.

| I'm pretty sure they will remain limited to certain servers. They are mostly a novelty like a new map but at the same time they can add a level of challange for those who like challanges. There are new skills to learn and lots of new things to figure out, but they aren't everyones "cup of tea". They promote a new level of teamwork that is hard to get on public servers since the Defense can be intimidating unless attacked as a team. Overall I like most of the mods except the flash gren and apache. Still need a little more time to experiment before I can really reply to this though. |

| Anyone else have problems with thier secondary grenades sometimes not working. I was playing spy for a bit and it wouldnt drop my gas grenades and then a bit later they started working again. I know Deathbringer had the same issue as me. |

Haven't experienced that issue yet Blown. But I'm sure we'll nail things down as we go along.
The current new additions to the NEO mods are as follows:
Medic MG upgrade (Crowbar shooter)
Medic anti-grenade pods
Demo Landmines and Sensormines
Soldier Remote-controlled rockets (No more Apaches)
Pyro Jetpack
"Aqua"Spies - Spies won't drown
MGs will still detect spies.

I'd personally like to see something big on the motd that tells people it's the new neo, and to type ntf_help in console if they can't figure it out. I have always liked neotf, but I can't stand people who can't figure it out. Oh wait, that insults half the people in this thread  sorry I'd also like to see mgs not shoot spys, neotf wasn't made to have the spys shot, but I guess I can't win everything!

I have my secondary grenade bound to my mouse wheel, so when I press it I can let go of my suprise. Deathbringers is the same way as mine. Maybe if it continues I'll try a different config and see if thats whats causing it. Never was a problem ever until last night with the new mod.
For the med-disp I just went to a different neo server till I found one that is running the new neomod and got it from there. Then left and joined TV4. Maybe you could also go to http://www.neo-tf.com/index.php and possibly download the files there. |

Hey Blown,
In your first post you said you couldn't connect because of a problem with med-dl download, which was the same problem that I had. Your following posts made it apparent that you now could. Did you do something that fixed your problem?

er what I was trying to say was that I love the new neo. Although the helicopters might create some llamaness, I would really love to have an aerial dogfight with a bunch of apaches. It would be nice if the apaches had double AC's on the nose instead of that shitty un-aimable rocket launcher.
