I stoked my own curiousity, and as I'm not a cat, I decided to ask.
One of my friends likes to point out that the game was so popular initially that the number of people who were playing the game at once was GREATER than the number of copies of the game that had been sold  . Now you know why we have Steam. 
Man, if one of the admins were to set up a server, and post a time and date... I would mine/disc people in real life to make sure I was able to play that night. I'd even go heavy and mortar my boss.
So, answer the poll, post your fond memories, and leave your "OMFG T2 or T:Veng was such BS" flamethrower at home, b/c I already know it.

I _vaguely_ remember Tribes, and I played a little bit of Tribes 2. They are amazing games, but the learning curve is a bit too steep for the average gamer.

thats cuz tribes is available for legal free download on the net now.

i've never played the first one. i have the second and thought it was a great game. played the demo for veng and didnt think it was too great.

i played a demo i got for tribes on a long long long time ago and didnt like it but then again i never really like to play demos they usually cut out all the good stuff
