What I think is funny as hell is the 2 dogs in the background just sitting there watching the whole thing like it was a boxing match or something.

I am going to go with 100% real. I looked at the photo's really close, and being a "photoshop" man myself I usually pick up on errors in photo's. I don't see anything wrong in the photo's on that page.
With that said:....Holly crap, that is crazy.

Also the posturing of the mule states otherwise. A mule would not attack a dead animal in that fashion, look at the legs and the posturing again in photo's 2 and 3, those are agressive stances for a horse(mule). The story might be totally fake as to what happened but the pictures I feel are completly real and that was a fight that ended poorly for the cat.

I would agree with snopes. The pictures are not fake, but the story is probably full of half-truths.
