Ode to probably the best weapon I've seen in HL.

1. You can catch the orbs from the BFG and toss them back. Any kill becomes yours. You can only hold it for so long until it explodes though.

2. You can not kill anyone by throwing health or ammo at them.

I tried!

3. Different items have different levels of punishment they will deal out. It's pretty realistic when considering weight of items. If you are going to kill someone by throwing a weapon at them, better make it a head shot.

4. Aim at opponent's feet when you are throwing. I've found that this stradegy works well. A good foot shot can kill anyone with full health and the majority of people have a hard time catching items thrown at their feet.

5. Tossing without grabbing. Sometimes it's faster and easier to just shoot an item on the groud rather than pick it up and toss it. Take cars for example. You can't pick them up, but you can sling the crap out of them by shooting them on the ground. Just press your "charge" button and shoot the item before you pick it up. This is very effective and hard to defend.

6. Block pathways with items. You can block paths with items and then sit back to pick people off. Funneh. Anyone can move them, but while they do that, they are sitting ducks.

7. You can not catch rockets. However, if you charge up and point at them, you can detonate them in the air with the electric charge.

8. To catch something, you have to have your crosshairs directly on it. Duh. Some items are hard as hell to catch! Example: Saw Blades. They hurt. Run away.

9. You can not pick up or throw corpses.

10. Leave those exploding barrels alone!

It's not worth it!

11. You can also shoot weapons aways from people on the ground. Example, if someone is attempting to grab a weapon in front of you, you can shoot it out of their way or grav it up and toss it away! People hate that!!

All around best throwable item: Radiator

If you have any Grav Gun tips I may have missed, post them. I am a Grav Gun hoor and am always looking for new ways to humiliate my opponents!

i find the huge metal desk better then the radaitor be cause you cant miss and its a giant shield

Desks are koo. But they are hard to see around and you can't take them into hallways without getting all stuck or making a ton of noise. Plus, it makes you an enormous target.

You can't pick up bodies in Deathmatch. At the end of the single-player game you can though.

exploding barrels are the best! there is some way to throw them and have them not explode, but i cant do it intentionally

grabbing the manhax and then running up to a guy and slicing em with it is awesome

I prefer the 1 gallon paint can. It sprays the person with paint when it kills em lol
