i need something to convert avi files to npg or dvd or vcd.

a friend of mine has a bunch of avi´s he wants to copy onto dvd discs so he can watch them on his dvd player at home and in his car. now, the dvd players don´t play avi files but they do play the others i mentioned.

so now i need some free software to convert those files.

I get the AfterDawn news letter and this was listed today.. and it's free. The download page says 'trial' but it is actually free.
