What is your mouse setting in windows ?
I know I use 2.0 in DoD

Cheep Logitech optical, like 75% of the bar in windows and 14 in DoD

logitech mx1000 sens at 17.2.. working on going lower

The "definitive" Ville mouse sensitivity debate.
Perhaps the best advice there:

i find that you hit targets A LOT better with low sensitivity. this is important for guns that required hitting on the first shot to be good. also note that it can be tricky comparing sens. because you're mouse and windows settings play a factor too. in general though the lower you go the more accurate you will be, at the expense of loosing twitch manuverability.

to disable the automatic mouse acceleration that windows enforces...
right click on your dod icon, go to properties, and in the "target" box add this:

also dont rely on high sensitivity to control BAR, it can be done pretty low... and easily at 5 or 6

If you go to the original post there's some neat info on how to set up seperate "BAR-mode" and "rifle-mode" configs and bind them to a single key, even instructions on increasing your sensitivity only while pressing down on the mouse button and firing.

| Also, if you get "mouse lag" the best thing to do is set steam to low priority in your task manager before you open up a game. |

I didn't get killed either.
Looks like I had just joined at the 1.20 mark.
I offed one of his 'mates.
fyi - sens is set to 6.2 for all weapons.
I find it very easy to be able to run around a corner and get behind someone and kill them cause their sens is too low for them to spin around. |

I just binded 1.5 for the rifles (i.e. K98), 4 for the heavier (i.e. BAR) and 3 for the light guns (i.e. Thompson)
It is very helpful, but I sometimes get screwed when I try to bayonet people when they have 3 sens and i only have 1.5. |

Ok, that is something that may explain the difference. I'm using a sensitivity of 7 with the BAR, but I'm thinking that differnces in the Win settings will give different sensitivities.
Now, with Steam, where do you enter these settings to disable mouse acceleration?

Open the "Play games" menu of Steam.
Right-click on the Day of Defeat icon and choose "Create desktop shortcut".
Right-click on the new desktop icon and choose "Properties".
Add those commands to the "Target:" box.

Instead of creating a desktop shortcut you can do the following.
right click on steam>play games>right click on day of defeat>properties>launch options
It is the exact same thing except you don't need an icon. |
