Whats up with the servers?

The lag on tv1 is because it is run from a business and there are some heavy "surfers" that hang around at lunch(seemingly to eat up our precious gaming bandwidth!) Maybe someday we'll get an ultra super fast connection that won't be bogged down by our customer service people browsing victoria secret.

SVC bad errors are steam/dod related and have nothing to do with the server.

Its a bug that Valve has never fixed.

I'll be more than happy to be patient until the servers come back around and are fixed. :)

I wonder though if you could give us an idea of what is meant about things being better?

If you take suggestions (I'm a nothing peon I know) I'd like to mention that a new voting script on 4 would be nice. I hate playing ava every second or 3rd time and I've been to various other places that have map voting scripts that do not allow the last 4 or 5 maps to played again until that 5th or 6th slot opens it up for them.

It keeps some variation in playing and that's always a good thing b/c there for a while it was the same 3 maps over and over and over again.

Not a complaint mind you, but since you're working on them just an idea.

I sure hope the other servers come online soon. I've been playing DOD for about 1.5 years now and I'll have to say I enjoy playing on the Ville severs the best. Even the people that play here are awsome. Ok, I'm done blowing smoke. :hb:

I've never, ever gotten an svc_bad error in any server other than theville. Its not as bad as it used to be, but it pops up once and awhile.

I get them a lot with non-ville servers for NS.

I only play DOD so I never really see that error anywhere else. Usually when it happens its right after someone caps the map. When this error was really common I remember getting kicked about 5 times during one round of anzio. The last time I got it here at the ville I was kicked, but ten yard wasn't, and he uses the same hax as me.
