A big THANK YOU!, goes out to Twisted29, SHAFT, and EagleEyes for taking the time to help a NOOB (ok an admin noob) on the Tayconc map. Guys and gals, this is what makes TheVille special, players who are willing to help the noobs improve, and thus become better players. These guys could have laughed at my pathetic attempts to improve my skills,
I recommend anyone who would like to get better at conc/nade jumping to play this map!!!

Three cheers for Rob and the ville as a whole!!
HIP HIP HOORAY! HIP HIP HOORAY! HIP HIP HOORAY!
Ok, now that the patriotic banter has been completed..I had a great time Tayconc-ing this evening. The grudge always seems to fill up with regulars when that map pops up. And Buford wasn't nearly as newb-ish as he's letting on. We all hid in a corner while he displayed his raw concing prowess. (Or something similiar...i promise ) Eagle and I had a grand time kicking the old soccer balls around and concing each other into the most inopportune of locations.
A place where you can go and fool around. With great people. Simply wonderful.
I love you server.
I love you too, <TVB>Twisted29

I know I'm an admin and all, but what exactly are the soccer balls for....I never did figure that out...with my skilled conc jumping abilities aside! ...nice try Twisted29!

Congrats on the jumpy jump Buford. I learned the same way. I think the others got so tired of me accidently concing them while practicing that they showed me how!
Twisted, I got the same from Warhammer. One minute, he couldn't get passed the stairs, the next minute I am asking him where the hell is his!
I don't think I have ever been in a tayconc game when someone wasn't trying to help a newcomer to the map. You couldn't be more on the money about what these servers are all about Buford. Robert has crated a wonderful thing. It provides enjoyment and fun for literally thousands of people. All of you admins keep it that way everyday. Mucho kudos to you all.

Ah, the soccer balls are the grand mystery of the map!! I can't just GIVE away that sort of information.
....you have to bribe me with no_clip......
The creator of the map put in a rather difficult, completely out-of the-way jump towards the end of the map. If you make it, you get to see the map credits and receive one of two soccer balls available to prove how mad 1337 your concing skills are.
Of course, you flew through the map so fast...it's completely understandable how you didnt notice them

They are a measure of your conc ability. If you have one, yes you have arrived at conc nirvana. You have completed the map.
I have visited some other forums lately and read their posts. In comparison we are the reining kings of all. I think the forums and the in-game actions are linked. What you read here is what our games are like.
The greatest bunch of guys and servers on the planet!

Ikana, you are so right! Just cleared the cliff and agree with you. I'll keep trying...again and again and again it seems!

I can get the soccer balls, I just can't clear the last jump.

Tip for the last jump:
Swim over to the platform closest to the hole in the roof so this hole will be directly over you. Double conc out of the water, (can be difficult to concentrate on swimming up and double concing at the same time) and start moving backwards on the second conc. This way it only takes two concs and it's the easiest way I know to do it. I think it was Warhammer who told me this. |

To stay above water with relative ease, hold the jump key down and you won't have to worry about sinking.
