well i got to wondering from my back2school thread what is it that everyone wants to do/does already for a career

right now for me

studying to become a science teacher

Combat Sniper/Corp.Pilot

Working on both Currrently. Havent enrolled yet into any branch of the survice because its still up in the air.

Will have my Private Pilots License by February.

Started in Accounting and have been a Computer Geek of one sort or another for six years. As far as school, I have been screwing around and not getting anything done. I have accumulated about 34 credit hours at a Community College. I am looking at Online Colleges to hopefully start next year. Also I am planning on talking to a recruiter for the Army Reserve next January. So depending on the outcome of that , will set the tone of what I will be doing next next year.

I'm a junior in college and studying to get a history major. i have no idea what the hell i will do with it

I came in as a computer science major but didnt really like it so i switched to history.

i still have no idea on what i want to do with my life... theres nothing really i can do, ive wasted my life.

I look around at my friends and their going off to big schools, Yale, Harvard, UCLA, USC, and Berkley.

I feel so left behind and so stupid, just want to cry.

I got a BA in Mechanical Engineering from SMU
I am currently working as a Systems Engineer at Lockheed Martin Aerospace

Actually, IMHO learning is a life long experience. School / University is just a start and once you move out into a full time job thats when you learn the most.

The only thing I would suggest is to do choose something you love as your career and then its all good after that.

JD had a interest in computers way back in grade 8 when he was 13, he took all the computer courses he could in school, got a job selling PCs out of high school, got a job with a large corporation doing computer support when he was 21 and at age 37 he is still with that company.

If I had a chance to go it all over I would have liked to had better grades in high school and then attended university like many of my friends but I have no regrets with the way my career has gone.

I am still surprised that Pornstar is not actually making movies

I'm an IT Manger for a consulting firm that supplies project managers to big oil companies here in Houston.

From my last thread you all know I didn't go to college striaght out of HS, but I am picking it up now.

getting associate's in arts and sciences, taking courses to be dental assistant, transferring for bachelor's in Secondary Education: History, then Masters in Library Science.

Want to be a school librarian, and if I can't find any positions, will fall back on Dental assistant position.

Attending college right after high school.
