A big circulating band of hot wind, kind of like Congress at times. But that's not important...............

It hit Port Charlotte as a Category 4. I know a few people who have property in Naples and someone who lives in Ft. Myers. I heard a trailer park had "significant" loss of life. The sad thing is that everyone in Tampa was told to move inland...into the storms path.

I work in St Pete, and live in North St Pete. Because I work for a power company, they evac'd some of us to our Corporate HQ in Raleigh NC.

SO, what happens? I send my family to Orlando, and I come up here. The Hurricane misses my house and work location completely, then makes a bee line for Orlando.... where I just sent my family. THEN to top it all off, the storm comes out the east side of florida, and is on it's way to Raleigh. froffle!!!!

God must really hate me.

I heard the death toll is in the "hundreds". People in trailor parks never learn, they never leave when the hurricane comes, and they never get to safer shelter during tornadoes here in texas. I guess thats God's way of keeping the redneck population down...poor bastards, hope we didn't loose too many of them

Or maybe they want to appear on the local news and get the chance to tell everyone about how they were walking outside their home and then it was "WOASH Gone!"
