Far Cry

Anyone tried it? I got it with my new video card, and I have to say that I have to play it on low settings to have playable fps, which is sad for a system that gets over 7600 3dmarks (03, build 340). The game reminds me of half life in that you can't just go shooting everything and you have to use your brain to survive.

It is a great game. There are 1 or 2 patches out for it that would boost your fps. SO take a look for them.

My husband and I have the game, but he's played a little more than me. The graphics, and the single player game are amazing. The multiplayer has a lot of issues, but the new patch has helped a lot.

ubi will never get multiplayer right. they always mess it up some how.

single player, yes its prob worth it. Multi, not at this point but some modders could make some damn awesome games with it.

The single player game is amazing.

What kind of PC do you have? Video Card? My machine spec in farcry is at very high and it runs great.

i played the beta version and then the game when it came out and they changed a lot of the top of my head they trimed down.....decapitated the graphics a lot from what i remember. but i hear they made it MORE realistic which is cool i have to buy the game for myself (bro has it and hes in st louis) so until then i will state as i always have IT SUX A LOT

Damn dude that sucks. I have only a TI4600 and it played Farcry at 1024X768 with everything at medium and some stuff on high... The only place where I noticed a little lag was in heavy foliage.

get some more ram. that will already make a big difference. XP itself actually needs around 500mb of ram itself.....

I think it's okay. I'm not a big fan of the enemies with rocket launchers attached to their arms, but they may be that tough because I set AI to auto-adjust to me. Since I'm already along those lines, I do enjoy the intelligence of the AI with its ordering each other around, flanking, calling in support, and making pretty good usage of cover.

Err I forgot to mention my os. Its win98se. 512 is the max it will support.
