all i can say after reading that is i remember a program on the discovery channel about something like that its kinda like a religion for them. they do it to feel at peace. then again they do it in buildings and not out on the beach so maybe those kids were just hi

I know several people who do this sort of thing on stage. I know a few folks in the Jim Rose Circus who not only hang from hooks, but hang objects from their nipples and units. My friend Lifto actually holds a Guiness record for hanging 2 irons from his unit, a car battery from his tongue, cinder blocks from his nipples, and irons from his ear lobes. All at the same time. Quite a sight to see indeed.

I've watched my friend Red hang from several hooks in his back. I could only watch for a bit. It's just too much. His back is completely laden with scars as is his chest from scarification on stage. It's all about the state of mind you enter into during the performance. It's a Zen like high for most of these folks. I don't think Red needs to be any higher though seeing how they test new drugs on him at some company called Pharmaco.

He never knows if he is on something or on a placebo. He's a funny guy.

All of these people I know are actually quite normal and good people. You would never guess that they do these sort of things just by looking at them.
