So, its a Friday night.
And I'm drunk.
I want nothing more than to jump into a TFC server and frag away. But...what is this? Theres only bots in there? Bah!
So, how do we revive this thing? I need some satisfaction! |

Innovate, don't recreate.
So many people loved NeoTF for a whle because it was something different. Now, after being out for so long, it's just "TFC." What would want to make people stay with that when there's something new that they might like? Like people buying new games when the older ones they have, they've never finished/grown tired of/got bored with/etc. It's because it's something new and exciting.
If nothing else, give TFC here at The 'Ville it's own style, like the days when we had a giant statue of Rob, server auto-responses (which very few people get anymore.), and sounds bites.
At least, that's my take on it. _________________ http://www.chronixradio.com |

New things aren't always better. NeoTF blew big time, and each update made it even worse than before. TFC isn't dead, there just aren't a lot of good pubs anymore. Half of them are locked or filled with annoying bots. Leagues, however, are thriving right now. I know that most people here don't compete, so may be of little help.
Probably the best thing that could happen to TFC right now is the release of HL2 (never going to happen). Mods such as TFC are going to be ported on to the engine with better physics, graphics, etc. Because things like graphics were, and still are, a major turn off to most people, TFC will hopefully receive more attention after its revamping.
Of course, this is all assuming that valve will eventually bother to complete HL2. _________________

TF2 != hl2. TF2 wasnt suppossed to be based off the hl2 engine. It was a project predating hl2 iirc. It was never completed as it was originally intended. Does anyone know if they now plan to use the hl2 engine for a sucessor to tfc, and if so, when that will be out? |
