Does it matter? you choose a path and take it, is it free will or has the decision already been made? you will and cant know.
It has to be free will? If you really wanted to see if choice matters. dont choose anything. just sit there and die....at some point your going to figure out that sitting and dieing is a choice too.
Step in front of a bus traveling at 60 miles an hour.
you survive, but it took a emergency team 28 hours to bring you back from the dead. After 2 yers of recovery and thearpy you can now drink soup through a straw. Free will or fate? was it fate that the doctors were on hand to fix you up? Was it fate that made the bus move at 60 miles an hour. was it fate that you choose to step in front a bus?
You walk into a vidoe store as a pimply faced 19 year old. Standing at the counter is a 22 year old bomb shell that is built like a brick house, as soon as she sees you she is in love with you and treats you like a million bucks for the rest of your life.... fate or choice??? hell no your just the luckiest son of a b.... on the whole planet...now wake up fate is not that kind! _________________ Only in America......do they have drive-up ATM machines with Braille lettering. |

Choice.
In short IMO, we were created to have free will and make our own choices. We are not predestined to some thing we have no control over. We may be "called" to do something, but again it is our choice to hear the calling and take the path.... we dont have to. _________________

Well i do belieave in Free will/choice...
Many of your choices you make will be influenced by many factors. Family for instance. For those of you who have siblings you will understand. For one i take after a lot of what my brothers have done or are doing.
Friends, Will always be a major factor in the choices you make.
But, every final decision made will be made on your part. Weather it be acceppting the fate you were given, maybe if thats your final decision, or just simply living the life that someone made you live. Or just living.
Every choice will be influenced by others...But you have the final say... |

I think fate chooses everything. People do have free choice but fate creates all the factors that cause you to make a certain dicision. So even if you think you are making your own decision, maybe it was fate that caused you to make that decision. So in a way I believe in both free choice and fate. No one will ever know exactly how it works.
The definition of fate is:
Quote: | 1.a.The supposed force, principle, or power that predetermines events.
b.The inevitable events predestined by this force.
2.A final result or consequence; an outcome.
3.Unfavorable destiny; doom. |
I guess it depends on your definition of fate. Fate can be predetermined or just the final result of things. It is just the things that happen as a result of many factors in the world including everything from choices to the weather outside.
Decisions are part of fate as well as all the other factors that influence the outcome of things. _________________

fate.........but it is your free will and choice to select a path in life that can lead in any direction, but no one has a set course for you it is still your choice but there are just selections.

I'd have to say free will, but that's probably
because I have faith in a Christian God, and from
that, you can only hope for free-will. But without
preaching, which I hate, there's really no way
to prove it either way. The guys who argue against
free will say if you do something, then go back
in time to the exact same situation, you'll always
do the same thing over and over and over, without
fail. So they're like, it's fate! And I'm like,
but I picked to do that. Then we kill each other. _________________ Spawn camper since: Dod Beta 1.0

I have a strange opinion here.
Everyone chooses what will occur in their life, they choose to become a doctor or a scientist, etc. They choose to have children, they choose to buy a nice home or they choose to buy a toyota over a ford. Depending on the choices that you make in your life, a "destiny" of some kind is established. Logically, based on what you choose to do - such as j-walking across the street without looking both ways and being hit by a bus - influenses the destiny that is arranged ahead of you. What I believe is that we do make our destiny, however, through our decisions - even minute ones - we can change this destiny. To me, the best way of explaining this theory is a mathimatical problem. What you do throughout the problem equals out to something different each time. The numbers in the equation are our choices in life and the end result is out "destiny". |
