|
|
I need some help I have either got a bug on my computer or a hacker controlling my CD-ROM drive opening/closing it at Random and I would like to ask that if anybody that is active on here is responsible please stop it funny at first but now its making me mad.
And if I'm totally off base and its a bug I would appreciate any help in getting rid of it.
Thanks Members of The Ville _________________

blame frag or JD take your pick...
im not sure about this maybe jfet knows but i think there is a bug you can put on people's computer that is a joke that allows the person who sent you the bug to mess with simple things on your computer like the CD tray opening, typing, opening programs, etc...

Run a virus scan. I know that certain joke websites can open your cd-rom tray if you go to them, so it would seem simple to have a virus do the same at random times. _________________

yes, typically virus scans will find them. if you use the default security settings in IE as most people do, any website can open and close the drive at will. |

Be sure to also run a spyware removal program like adaware. It catches alot of garbage.
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/
Go get the free download under support and after its installed run the program and be sure to click update now before scanning your system. When it completes let the program delete what it finds. _________________

AdminOP had that feature. It's pretty funny as long as there isn't a disk in there that automatically launches a program. I think all they need is an IP to do that, but it sounds like a program that got onto your computer. _________________
