yeah, but if you live in maryland its easy enough to hop over to delaware and get them for liek 2-2.50 a pack.

Pff...they're up to £4.50 a pack in Britain - something like US$7, or CDN$11. Would be nice if they were banned altogether, but until then, I'll settle for them going up by another extortionate amount each year.

Besides, even a packet a week less means a saving enough for a small vacation, while a packet a day less would mean someone would be able to buy me a brand new computer.

Wow, I am very sorry for your losses, Mad-Hammer. That time must have been incredibly hard on you and your family. I couldn't even imagine having to deal with that much... although I did lose one very close family member to a drunk/cocaine induced driving accident. I definately wish you and your children the best.

As for smoking.... I used to be a smoker.... but at $10 a pack here, and knowing all the effects, I quit. Couldn't justify paying so much $$ to slowly poison my entire body, give me bad breath, make my clothes/hair smell, nails/teeth yellow.....

I still smoke green though. I justify it because, unlike ciggerettes, it actually gives me a buzz. I wonder if it's as bad as smoking cigerettes... By not doing the research on it though, I can keep doing it with a clear conscience for now. Who am I kidding though? It's not worth it. Another vice I need to drop, but I'll take them one at a time for now.

Lhiannan dont read this if you still want your clear conscience

i just did a report on it in health this year and from what i remember it causes quite a few types of cancer. i dont remeber much else bout it tho.

as for cigs,
when I had D.A.R.E. a few of the vids say it costs 5 cents to make a pack and they still sell them for 5$. and as fer me im not gonna smoke cuz i dont wana pay all that money to kill my self and have cancer and breathing problems

Weed is substantially worse on your lungs than cigarettes smoke despite what kind of BS pro-green sources say. It'll also eat away at your brain eventually.

70 is not the adult diaper age. However, it is the time when your grandkids are finishing highschool, going on to college, turning into men and women. Its the age where you can read a novel cover to cover, and only have to worry about whether you enjoyed the book or not. Its the age where your grandkids love you because you're a rich old B@$t@ard and can give them some of the most memorable experiences of their lives. I don't know about you, but I wouldn't want to be turning out the lights just yet.

i smoke weed and cigarettes. i only smoke weed rarely though. as in, if im at a party and someone happens to have it i will smoke. i have never bought any myself.

heres my views on smoking cigarettes. i would rather smoke and die from a smoking related illness, then not smoke and die of a smoking related illness. heart attacks, strokes, and cancer are all smoking related. and people die at 40 and 50 who havent ever smoked. now forgive me for saying, but id rather i know that i am at fault for my own death.

and also, i could die tomorrow in a car accident. i dont want to hear about living till you are 90 if you dont. you never know what tomorrow may bring. i know some of you have had relatives that have died because of smoking, and it honestly saddens me. But you cant honestly say 100% sure that those relatives wouldve lived any longer if they hadnt smoked.

until we stop driving our cars, flying, eating fast food, and shooting eachother, i think we have a lot of bigger problems on our hands than smoking. i like having my right to smoke. I dont talk bad on your right to eat fast food. And fast food, contributes to plenty more heart attacks than smoking.

You marines can vouch for this. Many marines smoke. I work at a gas station and this marine comes in everday and buys a pack of pall mall unfiltered cigarettes. Hes about 65 years old. I guarantee you he could run laps around 60% of the population. If people would be in shape, and smoke, there wouldnt be near as many problems. The problem is all we want to do is sit on our arses and eat our fast food and drive our pollution causing SUV's. If everyone were as healthy as they should be, smoking would not be an issue.

I think the govt should worry about getting everyone up off their couches and out of their cars and walking or doing at least something. Not worrying about us smokers. Tax people that drive a certain distance, encourage bus programs, make mcdonalds have limits on how much fat can be in things, do anything they can to get us people to be more healthy. Why dont they have more things on tv about people being over weight and out of shape, instead of so many goddamn anti smoking ads? because people want something to blame, they blame smoking for the increase of heart attacks and stroke and cancer. They dont want to look in the mirror and say "Im fat. What can i do to change that?" They want something to point the finger at. When you point the finger, just think, 3 of those fingers are pointing back.

I guess what im trying to say is, we have alot bigger issues in america right now than smoking. I dont see any excuse for 75% of the populus are significantly overweight.

thank you for listening to my rambling
feel free to fire back in any way

oh and if i offended anyone by this im deeply sorry.
I understand smoking is bad but i just think that other problems are alot worse right now.

Jack

Smoking is bad. It's not just about the health of the smokers but also about the people around them who get the second hand smoke which they say is just as bad if not worse. Not sure if this is true, but I'm sure it does have some effect on their health.

It is your choice to smoke, but try to take into consideration the people around you, not just yourself.
