Weird thing was when I went there to their server today. I didn't do so hot 3 on 3. They are defintely teens. They seem nothing like they portray on their messageboard...odd, weird, strange.

They seemed good in an open enviornment (eg 3 on 3.) They would score less on a crowded map.

no...emperor wasnt cheating. i played with him. i don't think anyone was ever found cheating. anyhow, he is an ok soldier but he is by no means one of the best. if you find the original thread where we started talking about darkside you will see how he rationalized that he is number 1. bottom line he isnt #1 and i couldn't find him ranked on OGL. also what i love about emperor was the fact that he wasnt as good as he talked, and constantly blamed it on that he wasn't trying, which is the biggest BS excuse ever. one of his other clanmates torchythepyro used that excuse too. i guess they don't like trying.

That's almost as good as their "I'm tired . . . not thinking straight" excuse. To be fair, they work well as a team and have skills that are well above average. One of the biggest issues here is a culture clash between their "TFC-as-Everquest" fantasy schtick and our "beer-and-pretzels" goofball schtick.

BTW, it looks like Kilaak Kommander found the Darkside forums, and is lobbying for [Darkside] membership.

The emperor sux because he has a bad attitude. Everyone, including myself has admitted that he and his members have talent. However, as you well know, here at theville, you are judged by attitude first above all else. Actually no one is "judged" at first but, if you come off with a holier than thou attitude, you shall be flamed by the population.

I know of many players that have the ability to destroy more than half the population here without even "trying" (emperor's words) if they teamed up on one team. However they are all fair, calm, gentlemen/ladies with a respect for their fellow players. The darkside egomaniacs do not have this inner ability to respect their fellow players. Thus they continue to be flamed in our forums.

I bet you if I had not posted the so called "accusation" post about them, they would still have fallen to the way side because of their attitude. We all have fun here. Anyone who proclaims "we are better than you" is immediately flamed and tossed aside as yesterday's garbage.

Kermit, most of them are 18 or younger, one of them has a 1986 birthdate. They are only kids pretending to be grown up. They'll eventually learn that being grown up and respected is really about walking the walk, and not talking the talk.

As a side note: the Empire has deleted all evidence of Pie Daddy's posts ever existing, but why they don't just delete my username and forum access, I don't know. (Oops, err....I mean He doesn't know....aw crap.)

Just thought i'd throw in a few comments. The general attitude towards the younger player seems to be a negative or condescending one. I am still a few months away from being 18, and it becomes annoying when younger players get bashed because of thier age. Just because you have graduated from college or have a morgage payment doesn't make you a better TFC player, or even more experienced and skillful at it.

However, I am not trying to specifically implicate anyone here as being rude and offensive to the younger generations. I realize that this Darkness clan seems to be a haven for llamas; the average young age of thier members tends to support and encourage this behavior. This backlash against younger players in recent posts is aimed at (from what limited information I've reviewed) a clan full of llamas, not at the teenage populace of the Ville or even the rest of the TFC public.

Next time you flame someone, even if it is targeted at a bunch of llamas, try to avoid blanket statements. Not all teenagers are immature, delusional, inexperienced llamas. Occasionally a few of us can display some self control and maturity.

Once again, I'm not ranting about a personal injustice done to myself... simply an observation that I have made that seems to be a general attitude. Well, I've been on my soap box long enough. Later.

Yes, RunWithScissors is right, we (the marginally older crowd) tend to poke fun of people more easily when they're young...
As with most comments made, it's accidental to get 'blanket coverage', so maybe we should just try to make it clear who the target of our ridicule is

Speaking for the old guys...

I don't think that we are saying that the younger generation can't play TFC as well, I think that we are making the observation that SOME younger players don't present a mature demeanor.

Now, hard as it is to believe, especially in Roofcutter's case, we were all that age at one point, and did boneheaded things. This being the case, I at least, don't have anything against younger players saying things that display a lack of real world experience. That's just part of being young. I just remember back to when I was 16 and how sure I was that I knew everything.

The Emperor and Darkside are a little creepy, though, because they sound like some day they will pile into a van, turn on Helter Skelter and drive over to some poor slob with the name tag Yoda and do some freaky sh*t to him.

That group goes beyond youth and into a class of kids crying out for a reality check. I think Roof should give them a job in construction.
