Well you could contact your IP tech support to see if they are blocking the ports.
With some steam servers dail-ups connections get timed out before they connect or kick (on-auto) high ping rates.
Usually that would be seen in the message.

Does your ISP have a firewall or popup blocker? I know most of them do now. Also XP has a built in firewall.

Can anyone tell me what ports are different between the won version of TFC and the steam version of TFC? The only ports that could possibly be blocked would be the ports that are different between teh steam version and the won version
