Does anyone have a list of console tweaks I can play with to boost my fps and the speed of my game. also if you could reccomd some values for me to use.

Those are some that I know. As for good values to use, it depends on you connection.

the 2 best things you can do for better fps are:

cl_particlefx 0
(gets rid of weather, smoke, big dust exposions, sand puffs, water spashes, etc.)

and turn vsync to "always off" in your video card settings

there's some other minor tweaks but those will boost you the most

snaggletooth has some in the older forums...based my configs off that, here it is, has helped lower my ping from 400 to 200, if doesn't work for you (copy and paste into your config.cfg file in your dod, steam apps folder) you need only delete it to get default

A lot of the setup is determined by what your connection is. What connection do you have for the internet Mrs. Keyes?? 56k will have a diff setup then cable, and so on.

Also, the theory that someone that is lagging in game causes everyone else to lag is not true. It could be a number of things that could be causing lag for that player that has nothing to do with the server itself. Usually the only server side stuff would be choke, if it is setup right that is. And even then the one person choking does not effect the other people in the server. It is all a myth. I put up a tutorial a couple of years ago on how this whole thing works but I have since lost it. It was very informative, I wish I still had it

k, I copy and pasted, though at first my comp wouldn't let me access my .cfg file, so I did most of it through the console which majorly sucked.

I have dial-up, on avg. about 45 Kbps...

Third, I bumped a DOD ping tweaking thread, the one which I think BRN is referring. Hope it helps

Just set windows to open the file type .cfg in notepad....
(For XP)

Control Panels -> Folder Options

Click on the file types tab.

Click the new button...

extension cfg....
locate it on the list....
Click on it then click Change...
Select Program from list.

Choose Notepad
Click OK
Close out and now all your configs will open in notepad.
