Okay, maybe I'm the biggest loser on earth, but
where on earth are the Day of Defeat files defaultly
kept on a person's computer. I really want to change
my sounds and models, but for some reason, I can't
find these files anywhere. And for some weird reason
everytime I start a game on the servers (well, any
for that matter) it plays a file that's in my
CD-ROM drive, which happens to be a Woody Allen
stand-up file.

Err, okay, I got there, but for some reason there
are barely any files. Like in my maps folder I only
have dod_classic_hill and all my sounds are custom
sounds.

All the files are stored in Steam files. If you want custom sprites, put them in the sprites folder (or make a folder called "sprites" in the dod folder). If you don't like them, delete them and the default ones will come back. It works the same for sounds, models, maps, etc.
