Input for Website Update

Rob and I will be working on giving the website a badly needed layout makeover over the next few weeks/months. I figure since it is the villains who use it, they should have some input on the matter.

What do you think should be done?
What should we keep?
What should we remove?
What (and how) could we make something better?
What ideas/features should we add?

Everyone give some input and let me know your thoughts. The only way this site makeover will work is if YOU like it!

im not talking so much modifications to forum, but rather a layout change for the whole website. a new look. new colors?

As long as I have been here the forums have always been purple. Changing that would just be wrong. That's gotta stay.

I know a lot of people have been wanting post counts back. Personally I could care less but maybe put those back for the masses that want it.

Forum ranking used to be something that people enjoyed as well. Maybe bring those back. I haven't heard much on this one so if more people chime in on this one then maybe consider it.

Some people also showed interest in having the games brought back that used to be here. I'm talking about the pacman, memory game, and I can't remember the third one. I played them on occasion although I could never keep up with those that got the high scores. Maybe just some new ones instead of the ones that were up before. I would give you advice on games but I am clueless on which ones to put up.

This is all I can come up with at 4 in the am. I will give it some more thought and maybe see what others have up with.

I agree that the colors should stay. They are the VILLE!
Our current layout is pretty nice. Its hard to believe anything could be better.

Post counts would be nice. Most other forums have them. although we have done just fine without them.

Maybe a screenshot selection for the front page. People can submit their favorites and they can be posted for a while.

Maybe the top players from the various mods on the front page.

More smilies?? Different ones?? How about a smilie upload area?? If everyone could upload what they had...WOW, I can see that would be a nightmare to keep up though.

The changeing of the Ville Logo is due...although it looks great.

One thing maybe we have a game specific look for the Game fourms? Or perhaps that is where the screenshots go?? or the top scoring peeps? instead of the front page.

Specifed size limits for sig pics and avatars. I think there are for avatars.

all in all I think we already have a great layout that is easy to navigate, pleasent to look at and hard to improve on.

Perhaps bring back the old POTW. You could do a stand alone page that had the POTW rankings from each mod. That always seemed to draw interest to the site.

Again, you bring up all the stat hoors but I think they will always be there regardless.

Stay purple.

It sets The Ville apart from every other website.

bring back post counts!

Hall of Fame for past Villans, also a Hall of Infamy for past Llamas.

Weapons Clubs, 29+ Club for TFC, however many for DOD, NS, TS, etc?

A couple of years ago the Ville had a flash video that showed the locations of the Ville servers. I used to have it on my hard drive but 3 hard drives later it was lost. Having an updated version of that would be awesome.

Those that have been here a couple years know what I am talking about.
