to disable the automatic mouse acceleration that windows enforces...
right click on your dod icon, go to properties, and in the "target" box add this:
Code: | -noforcemparms -noforcemaccel -noforcemspd -full |
|
I still can't figure this out Rizzo. Do I want to go to my hl.exe file at C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\Blah@hotmail.com\day of defeat or to just the game.ico DoD icon at C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\email@blah.com\day of defeat\dod ?
And... er, target box? Is that just the field at the very top beside the icon in the properties menu? And I just copy and paste that whole thing into there? Could I possible ask any more questions? |

Uh, just do what he said. Right click on your DoD shortcut, and on the shortcut tab, put that code at the end of the line in the target box (the one that says "target"). _________________

I don't have a DoD shortcut and I can't find any kind of a dod.exe file.
I just double click my Steam shortcut, click servers and join a server. I don't even enter DoD and I can't find the exe.
EDIT: Nevermind. I've got it methinks. |

There is no dod.exe. It's all run from hl.exe.
First, make a shorcut from the games list. Just go to you games menu and right click and click create a desktop shortcut. Then right click on the shorcut and add that line to the target line. _________________

For those having troubles you might take a look HERE. Follow the steps in this thread and combine it with the steps given here and you will be set up to join the servers without even starting steam. _________________

Wow. Turn off your mouse acceleration now. Having aim without a mind of its own = awesome. |

I use sniper rifles primarily, and have been using a sensitivity of 3 since cs. With a three, i can move my hand the same speed as a person running by, so it seems easier to me. _________________ The key to Springfield has always been Elm Street. The Greeks knew it.
