Avenger,
Nukes are not the answer, but a reckoning is still needed. We as a country cannot remove the threat of terrorism by merely bringing the guilty party to justice(read Osama Bin Laden). The fact of the matter is that long before he is tried and put to death, another servant of darkness will replace him.
What the U.S. has to do is hold the country harboring him responsible for their actions also. You cannot make an example out of a terrorist, you can only make a martyr. Countries, on the other hand, can serve as a excellent reminder not to challenge the might of the U.S. This does not mean nuclear war, it means conventional warfare, surgical strikes and (hopefully) no loss of life by civilians.
I agree that if we make the mistake of not picking our targets, we will cheapen our retribution, but the countries harboring these......... scum must be made to pay. If the U.S. gives Afganistan back to the ousted rebel faction by beating the crap out of the Taliban because they protected Bin Laden, other countries will take note and won't be so quick to harbor terrorists.
That, I believe, is how you deter terrorism.

I still can't believe this shit happened. If we are going to war, im signing up. Motherfuckers need to be taught a lesson. "Mess with the best, die like the rest", that it's, no more bullshit. When i travel into Manhattan now, the 2 most spectacular view is gone. WHY MAN!!!!!!!!!!. I feel like going on a "Muslim-bashing" spree (anyone down?) I just wanna wish the families and friends that are grieving with my deepest condolences! R.I.P. to all the innocents that did not have to die because of Capital and Freedom hating motherfuckers. We will get them back for you! |

Please, dont even talk about WWIII. The last thing we need is more death. And guys, its ok if you want to rant and rave, let out your emotions, dont let them build inside. Please, dont censor your cussing, you dont need to, you are among friends, who feel the same way. Let it out. DAAAAAAAAAAAAMN. There, I kinda feel better.
Each time I watch a plane hit the towers, or the towers collapse, i get a sinking feeling in my gut, and my heart skips a beat. Imagining all those peple dying at that instant. Many of them, firefighters, and police. Two of my uncles are firefighters, fortunatley here in El Paso, and not in NYC. But I would know how devastated I would be if I lost them, or anyone in my family.
I dont think that this will lead to war. This was a small terrorist group, not a whole country. So I doubt any dispute with another country will break out.
Today, in my english class, a girl stood up, and read the class a passage that she had written, based on the attacks. Another girl stood up and told everyone how she may be missing 6 people in NYC, and how she went home and cried her eyes out. I was not ashamed to tell the class that this brought tears to my eyes. These are some of the truly bravest people. So please, do not hide you feelings. |

Shit is getting really bad down here. When they said it looks like a warzone, their not kidding. To see fighter jets like F-15 and F-16 flying around is something i thought i'll only see at airshows. Now an aircraft carrier pulled into NYC harbour! What gets me the most is, i don't think anybody has a chance to survive in that wreackage but i hope the best. Also the remains of one of the towers is totally gone cause it just fully collapse. One of the disturbing pictures i saw in the newspaper today was people were standing on there floor waiting to die because the plane isolated them from the rest of the building's staircase. They were trapped. Also i can't believe how people just jumped to their death because they knew they were going to die and didn't bother to try escaping. I hope deep down in my heart that those Scumbags is going to get what they deserve! |

Word up Gloomie! I am drunk as shit right now, but I know that the only thing that these SOB's understand is force. I say that we exterminate the mf's in order to preserve our way of life. It is not a question of right and wrong, it is only a matter of delivering justice. |

That's right force is the only thing they'll understand. Diplomacy has failed, now is the time for action. If the only thing they understand is death, then we should give it to them. To sweep across their scum-spawning countries and leaving nothing untouched. Much like Sherman's march to the sea in our Civil War, everyone held accountable. Their civilians are as guilty as the rest of them. Celebrating and giving out candy, singing songs praising our plight! There are no innocents there, only others who will attempt more acts such as the ones yesterday. We need to attack them out of nowhere, just like the suckerpunch they gave us. We all know who did it, we just have to prove it, and when we do, we should make a blazing example to all who would challenge our power. The line is being drawn, time to choose sides, and all who get in the way of our exaction of justice should be struck down as well. Like Colin Powell said Quote: | This was not just an attack on the United States, and freedom, this is an attack on civilization... |
Also, today was the day the one responsible for the bombing of the WTC in 1993 was to receive sentencing in court for that. I wonder what punishment he received. One can only hope eaten alive by millions of fireants while being raped and torn apart by angry baboons.

Now don't hold me to this, but I do quite a bit of news reading from many many sources at night. If you guys don't remeber the report that Iraq was building up its forces along the Jordian border in Iraq and in Syria, well according to Israelis Intelligence Iragi was the one who hired Bin Laden to do the dirty deed. Also Russian is qouted saying that Bin Laden had been recently appointed as the Head of the Afghan Military. For those who may not know. When the Soviet Union broke up with several Muslim populated areas forming their own countries, Afghan has been raiding these new countries and kidnapping across their borders. Russia with the help the US has been trying for years to keep the area from exploding. It also appears that Afghan Ally Pakistan is turning against them due to the attack yesterday. I have had a feeling that Iraq, due to the military build up are planning an attack in the region with Syria for some time. The attack on us might be the begining of a bigger picture. Also the Us Gov. believes more attacks are planned to come soon, don't take my word for it its just what I read. to me it looks like the war will be a all out Mid East war pitting Arab nations against each other. If I remeber correctly a report saying that Syria wanted to uphive King Adullah ( I might of mispelled that)of Jordan since he signed a treaty with Israelis and is not taking a hard line policy against Israelis. Interesting indeed. Its going to be scary and fun to see was is going to happen next. It looks the US is finding unlikly Allies in this next war(Russia).Just thought I would tell you guys what I have found reading in variest papers and Government releases( US and foreign).

Just read an article about the current situation of things right now. NATO and the UN have said they completely back the US and have ok'ed the use of military action if nescissary. "An attack on one, Is an attack on all." Said UN officials. Some nations rallying behind us are forementioned Russia, China, Libya, and Iran. Those were a surprise to me, that's great though, normally those countries are bordering on potential enemies. Russia and China both weild considerable power, plus damn, China's got like a Bozillion people that would fight, since they're communist and all they don't have much of a choice. Those terrorists sure fucked with the wrong people this time. The world is pissed. The Slumbering Giant has awakened and taken up it's mighty hammer, scanning the horizons for it's foe, and when it spots them, the hammer will fall.

As I was sitting in the commons area of my college yesterday watching he TV, I saw that China and Russia had come out and publically stated that they were 100% behind the US. I literally got chills. It's amazing how Russia, a country we were involved in the cold war for umpteendozen years with, would back us. And to see that China, of all the countries in the world would put aside their differences with us to achieve a good for the world. I think after we find out who did this and retaliate the world is going to be a much more peaceful place. Not only because the terrorists are gone, but because countries around the world (ie china, russia etc..) are seeing exactly how senseless this violence has become. |

Haven't been around much since the attacks, but I have four family members that work in building four which was crushed when one of the Towers came down. Thank God, they all got out safe, but it has shaken me. My wife also works in DC and from the increasing security perimeters to the panicky evacuations, things are much scarier than a week ago. I just wanted to say I was pleased to see so many notes of concern and support from people on this board. I always thought this was a good group of folks and its nice to see my faith wasn't misplaced.
My thoughts and prayers are also with anyone touched by this tragedy.
I don't even want to talk about what retaliation is needed... I'm just too upset to make sense about it. I'm just glad there are professionals who can make those decisions, so that the response is just and complete and it is against the people responsible. To me this retaliation is not at all about religion and I hope we can convince the world of that as well.
God Bless,

Your right FingerD, the war is not about religion, but I guarantee that religion has a big part in it. Not to go into a religious rant here, but a catholic priest was interview about this, and someone called to ask how God could do something like this to his people. The priest replied that God couldn’t interfere with our free will; it wouldn't be free will if he did, and therefore we have suffered from the will of evil. He finished by talking about God sitting up there watching the battle of good and evil, and Good will win!
In the words of Sen. John McCain "May God have mercy on you, because we won't." |

This morning (friday) while I was watching the local morning news the sadness and loss is still so strong to all of us. It was a poignant moment when the newslady reporting on some specific horror in her best newsperson voice had tears running down her cheeks at the same time.
Now it is friday evening. we live on a small rural but busy road with a nice wide spot in front of our house. About an hour ago someone stopped in a pickup truck and two nice people got out and sat on the tail gate. Lighting candles and holding up an American flag they waved at every passing car. Everyone going by honked and waved back than people started stopping and joining in until there were about 20 people. traffic that normally flys by was at a crawl and people were shouting pro USA slogans. This went on for about 15 minutes than people started leaving and now they are all gone.
I think this is something special and unique to this time.
That is all I have to say
