Well, steam has put me out of commission indefinately. My account nolonger exsists. And when I checked the steam forums, I found I am not the only one. The last update apparently deleted some people's accounts including mine. This means that my CD key is still registered, but not bound to my email so I can not log in. Now I am going to have to go and get another copy of HL and then have all my admin and other steamID related stuff changed.

That sucks

I was having some trouble with a dod update earlier today, but I connected just now and everything seems to be running just fine...

You should try and get valve to send you a free copy of half-life (or more). There's no reason why you should have to rebuy the game because of a dumb mistake they made.

Same here blackhawk, I cant seem to get in with my ID anymore......

I will wait for things to settle out and the updates to stop, perhaps by tomorrow it will work again.

I was having trouble all evening with steam. Same stuff you are describing. Wait a little bit though. Mine cleared itself up. Don't rush out and spend money yet.

Right now it is taking over 5 minutes to connect to steam. Earlier today my computer just randomly shut off while playing dod. It usually happens around 20 minutes into the game. It is either steam, or something from the maps i downloaded from tv7 last night.

They probably have backups. Wait a minute.....this is Steam we're talking about. Well then you're screwed.

I guess they will have to fix it or delete the CD keys with no accounts so you can re-register.

I was having all sorts of problems as well. I shut down deleted clientregistry.blob, restarted steam, logged out and exited went back in and the updates only took seconds and I was up and running again.

wow, a first. ppl having issues with steam and mine actually works. Well, except it took for freakin ever to load but it still did. Anyhow, hopefully you get it worked out BH.
