I would love to see pretty much any of Harry Turtledove's books made into movies. He writes the coolest alternative history. also I would like seeing any of Terry Brooks's books made into a movie, because his fantasy books are just kick-ass (IMO)

I'd like to see "Thunder on the Dneiper" by Bryan Fugate made into a movie. It's the history of how Zhukov actually got Stalin to change their defense plans at the last second, which saved the Soviet Union from being conquered by the Nazis... and therefore, ultimately spelled the doom of Hitler and his butt-buddies. There are about 7 Americans who actually know about that... I think it'd be good. Oh, and that is my kind of story

OK, so I'm a war nerd... so what?

Yeah, I am a fan of Terry Brooks as well, so I think his books would be really great to be made into movies.

I also like this new series of books by Michael Stackpole. The first book was The Dark War, and the second one just came out called Fortress Draconis.

I am of the mind to say The Dark War might be favorite book of all time, at least until I read another one better. The ending was just amazing...

Roof, I think I've seen that movie....

If we are talking about "well made" movies, as opposed to just buying the rights to the title and making up some totally new crap, I'd love to see Patrick O'Brian's Aubrey/Maturin series. They are historical sea novels.

They are terrific books, so I don't really see how a movie would do them justice. Nevertheless, I'd love to see some of those scenes onscreen. If only to understand some of the sailing nuances, that a landlubber like myself can only guess at.

Those are my favorite books, I have read them a bunch of times. Only recently has he been getting credit as a really great author. He was just touted as great historical writer, but some mainstream folks are starting to see how he goes beyond that.

Unlike other so called "great books" his are actually really easy reading. Its his character development that is so great. After a while you don't care if they're at sea or not.

I think Rainbow Six would make a good movie. A game they should make into a movie is Starcraft.

Avenger,

The Kama Sutra was turned into a movie. Granted it's a porno! I've seen it a couple times. It's ok but by no means a blockbuster!

ktulu, do you think you could actually make -any- of H.P. lovecrafts works into movies? The way they are written would make it incredibly hard.

Same with My favorite, Poe's works, though, Fall of the house of Usher could be made into a movie with some work.

I'd like to see E.E. "Doc" Smith's Lensmen series made into a film. For being such an old series it still has to be one of my all-time favorites...

JollyRoger I think it could be done but just like Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings, the viewer would have a much better understanding and appreciation if they read the books, just like the Metallica tune "The Thing That Should Not Be" if you've read the book the words to this tune rule.

The other movie I would like to see made is one based on Team Fortress with all of the classes to match a personality, what stars do you think match each class?

HWGuy - Arnold Schwarzenegger
Medic - Hawkeye from Mash
Spy - Any james bond
Soldier - EagleEyes
Demo - Bruce Willis
Sniper - ?
Engineer - ?
Scout - ?
Pyro - Sean Penn
