Hmmmm, apparently my age is showing cause all I remember for cartoons when I was young were the basics. Things like the Loonie Tunes characters - Bugs, Tweety, etc. The old Spyderman stuff......Hmmm, Johnny Quest comes to mind.

Non cartoon related, anyone remember Hammy the Hamster? I wonder if he is related to our own Hamese?

I remember those too JD. That is when there used to be actual saturday morning cartoons that lasted till noon!! Now I'm really depressed.

I also remember on Sunday mornings watching Popeye with the guy that used to draw pics during the intermission. Watching the Little Rascals and the Three Stooges as well. I miss those days

Well If you were 7, you would think today's cartoons are great. I remember watching the crappiest of crap when I was a kid, Rubix cube, Ritchie Rich, smurfs They even brought in Scrappy to ruin Scooby doo(Even I thought he sucked then). But I liked those crappy cartoon when I was a kid and today's kids probably like the crap that is on now.

Of course I do like to watch Sponge Bob from time to time.

Omg, how could I forget? The best cartoon of all time is the original teenage mutant ninja turtles!!!! Now WB has gone and ruined it entirely with the new crap

On a side note, has anyone watched nick jr. lately for whatever reason? It's flooded with the gayest shows ever created. They all focus on virtues, morals, learning things (though they suck at teaching and pick the wrong things), and promote you doing whatever the tv says as the characters yell at you. The storylines, voice acting, and ideas in general are completely horrendous. Back in the day of being a little kid, nick jr. actually had some good shows. Things like gumby were ultimately hardcore. Not to mention they had a better slogan as well. Recently they've changed the one that promoted being selfish and greedy (nick jr. is just for me!) to one that supports learning rather than simply enjoying being a kid with a short attention span (nick jr. is where I play to learn!).....pure tyranny...

Snoopy and charlie brown also pwned hardcore

I think a lot of us would, when we were young, watch a cartoon without thinking about whether we liked it, just because it was a cartoon.

The Loonie Tunes ones were the best

Amen, Simpleman. Speed Rocked! I still check my trunk to see if any pesky kid and his pet monkey have snuck in there before I go somewhere. I have been wishing for the Mach 5's jumping jacks while playing HLRally.

But as JD mentioned, Johnny Quest was a favorite too. That spider robot episode was awesome. And the invisible creature that they blasted with paint of different colors so they could see it. Very cool idea and animated effect. That show really broke new ground. Of course, two adult single men living with a son and an adopted Indian boy might raise a few eyebrows today.

But since we're talking old age, I still remember watching Lost in Space episodes in black and white when I was a kid. And I'm not talking reruns here. That wasn't a cartoon though. So I guess that means I'm not that old.

One of the best ...GIGANTOR...the spaceage robot...
and it was in black and white

"Gigantor - Huge robot on the Japanese sci-fi cartoon GIGANTOR/SYN/1966. Set in the year A.D. 2000, Gigantor was the world's mightiest robot originally designed for warfare but whose powers were later harnessed for peace. It was remotely controlled by a twelve-year-old boy named Jimmy Sparks. Gigantor's theme song describes its mission: "Gigantor the space-age robot, he's at your command...Bigger than big. Taller than tall, quicker that quick. Stronger that strong. Ready to fight for right...against wrong."

Anyone remember "Car 54 Where Are You" "Cannonball Run" Passport To Adventure". I remember the first time "Batman" aired it was at 7:00. Every single kid was in front of their tv watching it.
My grandfather told me about them
