Here is a link to a article on the newest cell phone service currently offered by AT&T
You dial a number and then hold your phone up to a speaker playing a song you want to know more about. in about 15 seconds you get who it is and other information!

Or you could save money and simply guess the title from the lyrics, and then download it off of kazaa to confirm your guess.

Not to mention with XM; radio that displays the name of the song playing; catching on it won't be too handy for long. It's just one of those things people can buy to show they have a lot of disposable income to buy these gadgets.

So is this feature still going to be around when Cingular and AT&T finally merge. I find it odd that AT&T keeps coming out with new plans and features when that may all go away within the next year. I guess its to get as much bucks by that time as possible.  |

That's funny. I actually work for the USA division of ATT Wireless, as customer service. I've been off work on a leave of absense for about a month though. Lot's of weird things are happening, new programs, etc. This one sounds kinda lame. I bet there will be a charge to use the feature.
It's possible that even though Cingular bought ATTWS, they could still keep them under two seperate names. When they merge, usually your plan will stay the same until you change to one of the new companies plan. Sometimes they make you change plans, sometimes they don't. It's tricky to say. It will be interesting to see what happens.

Yeah phones should be a little more basic, but what's the fun in that? Soon they will have a phone that can drive your car from the other side of the planet.

Will that is the fustrating part as a customer. I know mergers take up to a year sometimes to complete. But it would be nice if one side or the other would be forthcoming on future changes. I guess they don't want a mass exodus of customers. That being said, if I had to change service I would probably switched to Cingular anyways. So I guess I can't really complain. |
