I've had a chance to reflect on today's events in NY. I've talked to my family, real life friends, and now you, my online friends.
I've seen the outpouring from many of you on icq and e-mail and it's good. I know you all care and I do as well. Things that I've fought over in the last few days all seem petty now.
Take time to appreciate your loved ones, friends, and us here on the ville too. All my PWG friends, JD, Robert, JCOM, Cadman, Dgenr8, Ice Guido, Bada Bing, Snipe Man, Maian, Cool Guy, Spam on Rye, and all others I did not mention. I value the time I play together with you guys.
Take time to appreciate the little things in life and make your time here precious. Be good to one another and may God bless us all for what may happen. It make the potw, even teams, and the gates getting stuck seem petty. Don't It?
Sincerely
Chris/FragFailure

Chris, your points are well taken. We all grow complacent, petty, and unappreciative until something shocks us into reality and we realize how delicate life is. We have gone for so many years in our sheltered isolationist world here in the USA. Eventually, the world catches up with us. It has happened to previous generations and now it is our turn. We can no longer stay tucked into our comfortable cocoon.
But I know this trauma will bond us together as a nation, just as I see happening here in our little on-line community. We may be in for a nasty war and very uncertain times. If so, we cannot escape it for it has been imposed upon us by those who would destroy us all.
But just as in the generations past, the spirit and courage of our poeple will cause us to prevail. The outpouring here from you younger guys renews my faith in our future in a time when it seems like so many in our society do not care about personal integrety but just about how they can screw the other guy to get ahead.
God bless America and all of you.

It sure does seem all trivial to the events transpiring Frag, I can't even bring myself to play tonight for the simple fact that I can't bring myself to kill any of you guys. Too much of that has happened today and it just doesn't feel right to be attacking my friends from here in the US and our allied contries.
A comment made earlier be erba I thought about too, Quote: | I bet not too many people playing as terrorist on ConterStrike tonight |
You better beleive that. You guys take care of yourselves, I'm going to be up working on some art stuff for the next couple hours to keep my mind busy.

I just wanted to thank you all for the community that has formed at the ville. I know it sounds a little foolish to base friendships off of what is just a video game. But i've spent enough time here to find some true friends. To come here this morning and see the posts of sympathy and compassion...that meant a lot to me. Hopefully to some of you as well.
So even though you're just posting a thread, remember that it still touches people, and can ease suffering. Thank you all, and take care of yourselves. |
