First, if you aren't using a custom sound pack... . Default sounds are just plain bad, try these new ones, if you don't like them at all, you only need to delete the folder. If you delete the folder, Steam will use the default sounds, so there's basically no risk.
For the sound pack, I'm using mostly Vunsunta's sounds. I've also taken the grenade bouncing sound from Call of Duty (a more distinct sound) as well as that unmistakable rumbling MG42 sound, the Colt sound and... I believe a couple other little things - including the best rocket launcher sounds I could find.
Download my uber-swanky (mostly borrowed, I take 0 credit for this pack) pack here:
DOWNLOAD
Unzip the downloaded file, cut and paste that folder into this directory: C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\YOUREMAILADDY\day of defeat\dod\sound
Now, if you're anything like me - you hate marching band songs and like punk... and Rammstein (it was a toss-up between Die Toten Hosen or Rammstein, I picked the latter) you'll dig these custom win songs that I created.
Here are some 23-25 sec clips that I made for Axis (Rammstein - Bang Bang) and Allied (Lagwagon - Mr. Coffee/The American Way) and British (of course, the Sex Pistols - Anarchy in the UK)
DOWNLOAD US Win
DOWNLOAD Brit Win
DOWNLOAD German Win
Unzip each downloaded file, copy and paste them to
C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\YOUREMAILADDY\day of defeat\dod\sound\ambience
Remember, if you don't like any particular sounds or just want to get rid of all of them together, delete the files. It will always revert back to the default sounds even though you can't see the files. |

:O Good call Turbo, La Sexorcisto was one of my favorite highway albums back in high school (note: this makes me sound like I'm 35 since that's an extremely old album, I'm 22). Don't ask about Lagwagon, in my own little world every single Lagwagon song explains something about life in an ironic-sarcastic tone.
Anyway, I'll tell you what, I'll make some Zombie cuts tonight. I'm busy unpacking but I'll be done soon, I'm thinking T-Kiss '65, Real Solution #9, and Welcome to Planet MF would be perfect. |

Hey Ten Yard Stare, do you know of a way to replace the voice commands. (such as "Yes Sir!", "Negative", "Follow me!".) I find them very annoying and just want to replace them with a one second blank sound file. _________________
