I just picked up a Logitech MX510 optical gaming mouse. And I can say one thing I am very impressed. Sooo much more accurate and smooth compared to a regular optical mouse. 800pdi compared to a average optical mouse of 140.
I recommend every one gets one lol

i have it and i love it. although about 2 weeks after i got my 2nd one (i have it and the wireless version of it) a new version came out. its red and has like 0.5 megapixels more in sensor resolution. its really cool. i tried it and its just as good if not better than the MX510. its like the MX580 or MX610. i dotn remember. the only one higher than the 510 thats not in the 700's yet (700 is the cordless one i have) |

I've never heard of the 510. I am using the 500 with absolutely no complaints _________________

Some can see movement better and will be more accurate than others. _________________

The accuracy of optical mice is measured thru dpi or dots per inch. The higher the number the more sensitive the mouse will track movement. Grip and comfort also come into play as there are many diff shapes to them.
I have the logitech MX500 optical wire mouse which is similar to what DK has but not quite as nice. It is by far the most comfortable mouse I have ever used. _________________

Yeah, as the corollary of this story. I had a Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer optical mouse and with my old Dell it started losing its USB connection intermittently for like a second or so. It would happen again and again making gaming impossible and finally it would just stop working until I unplugged it and plugged it back in.
I thought it was the Dell and switched back to my old 3 button mouse. When I built my new rig, I used it again and assumed I would have no trouble. The same thing happened. On the MS Knowledge base they say that ASUS motherboards don't supply enough USB power so they don't support their USB devices on them. No list of ASUS MB model numbers... they just don't support ANY of them.
Since it happened on the Dell, I know it wasn't ASUS's fault, but I gave up and bought the Logitech MX500. Pure gaming sweetness since then. I just wish I hadn't wasted $50 on the M$ POS.
Hey Bill!!
<sigh> Thanks for letting me get that off my chest.
