talks about religion are usually frowned upon here, as they start too many arguments and bad feelings towards each other. just fyi. now carry on until JD or Rob comes and lays the smackdown.

It wasn't so much a religion thing as it was "Boy, these people are idiots" thing. I don't care if it's Muslims, Christians, Jewish People, or The Cult of Bob. Having imagry like that in a show that's supposedly for all ages is wrong.

i was more referring to n0g0d when he said "Its not that I don't believe in a superior being, but I just don't believe religion is right"

nothing against his beliefs or anything.... just playing peacemaker.

Jfet, God just told me that you are comepletely wrong.

Y'know while we're on this touchy subject, I had a strange experience, recently. I was a on a fairly long flight and they were showing the Passion of the Christ. I got some messed up headphones, so I couldn't actually hear anything. And those screens are pretty hard to see from the seat I was in.

Now, I know there was a lot of controversy about this film, but now that I have seen it... sort of, I don't know why there wasn't even MORE controversy!

First of all, I guess it is told in a modern times parable or something, which is not what I expected. But secondly, when did Jesus Christ ever go to Havana, Cuba?!? Where in the bible did I miss that, huh? And I'm sorry if you think I'm a prude, but I just don't think it is right for Jesus to do that kind of bumping and grinding on the dance floor. I mean what was that?!? It should be a forbidden dance to the messiah!

And the only criticisms I heard were about anti-semitism. What about the lame dance numbers? They were some sort of sin against entertainment, that's for sure.

I know we try to avoid controversial topics here on the Ville, but I just couldn't keep my mouth shut on this travesty of religo-entertainment.

I think that comment was pretty safe. No one is going to argue about what he believes.

Whhooops! My bad! It turns out, my wife tells me that the movie playing on that flight was actually, Dirty Dancing II Havana Nights. Whew! Well, that makes a lot more sense and I am far less indignant about the trampling of religious doctrine now. Plus, it explains that disturbing scene where Jesus and Mary Magdalene were feeding each other hot chili peppers... <shudder>.

Of course, in retrospect, it might have been enjoyable to see some of those characters from Dirty Dancing II get a couple of really severe beatings from merciless Roman soldiers. Oh well, I guess you can't have everything.

See, religious or not, it's that sort of thing that proves there is a hell.

There's a girl in my drama club that absolutely loved the first one, and she's obsessed with the second one. She says she has seen it in theaters around 3 times, and she's always watching the trailer for it (yes, she is insane).

Sometimes I think that I need to have a few shots just to understand you.
