Modem bonding. careful here, sometimes twice is not always better.Ive found that under the right circumstances modem bonding can work to increase speeds but only with certain types.Im not good on this so ill just recommend something that ive used before that makes setting it up a breeze.
iMASS by mulitplex i think.Great program snappy to use an pretty much explains itself, all thats needed here is the physical instalation of a modem if you cant do this then dont try bonding.
Good Luck ! |

Actually dual-modem dialup is supported by windows 98. Its called multilinking, and there's a panel for it when you set up a new connection. But it still sucks for me. Max d/l speeds reach up to aroud 8kbps. (That's right!) I got a split phone line so i can only get about half as good a connection as a regualr phone line. No cable access out here either. It blows huge @$$. I hate the phone company >

I know its supported.iMASS is a program that lets you tweak it a bit further,it also has benchmarking in it.Binding is great if you got the extra modems. Most of the time though your not gonna see a large decrease in lag in games.MPP was mainly used so that the lines although connected at the same time could perform two different tasks at once.In a game situation what if one modem was to start laggin more than the other ? Even worse what if this was 2 winmodems an one starts laggin? That means extra CPU going to that second modem,When this happens the other modem then begins to lag thus trying to take more CPU.This has only been my experience. There are plenty of MulitLinking or Modem Bonding forums out there check them check your equipment check your isp check.Try if it cures the problem then go for it.
Good luck |
