We are considering it an exploit on any map and will ban if continued after warning. We are not going to sit and attempt to decide whether the mappers or game creators "screwed up their design" or not. Some could say the nade exploit was intended. I feel it wasn't but I'm not going to debate that. It's simply not allowed here. Further more, it is a rule we The Ville are upholding regardless of whether the mappers or game creators intended it or not. Some servers limit or do not allow things like bunnyhopping and scripts. Does that make them horrible? No, it just set's them apart from other servers. It's a rule that certain server chooses to enforce. This bannable exploit is The Ville's rule. Regardless of who thinks it should be allowed or not. While your opinion is heard and welcome, it's not going to change the decision at this point.

ty for your intelligent well thought out reply. I understand completely now. Rather than take each spot or incident and make a decision on it the admin have chosen to take the easy way out and ban it all together. I can live with that, admin want to play the game also and may not wish to spend there entire playing time deciding whats fair and whats not. I think you admin should let KRG make these anouncements. His abitlty to state the opinions of the admin team and its reasoning are far superior to blue's "dont do it"

I think everyone needs to just calm down about it and stop taking things so personal. Regardless of whether you agree or disagree, personally attacking each other does nothing but cloud the issue and cause needless drama.
It's not that serious folks. We ask that you do not do it. That's it and it's not up for debate. We make decisions and put them into action. This place is awesome and will continue to be because good people have made and will continue to make good decisions. Please accept our decisions without malice and continue to enjoy The Ville.
It's nearly impossible to enforce map specific rules. It's been tried with murderball and hunted and it does not work. It will not work with DOD. We are not going to enforce "ledge specific rules". Impossible.
We choose to make global rules which are in effect on every map when possible. This is what we have done here. We ask that you observe this rule and all rules while playing here. The Ville has an open door policy. You may leave at any time if you truly disagree with the way we do things here.
Now, go kill someone.

what gives you the right to authoratatively say what is and isnt 'moronic dribblings' or 'stupidity'. i think some of the stuff that you say is moronic and stupid, but i dont go around forcing my belief of others. relax, take a chill pill, and realize that everyone isnt out to get you. if you ask nicely (and act nicely) more people will be willing to listen to what you have to say. and by the way...the internet gives everyone a right to say what they want. moronic or not. |

Personally, I don't think there's much merit in the "teamwork - jumping on people's heads to get to an out of reach area" thing.
If you get up there, you get cheap kills. Yay.
If the server owners don't want people doing this: then I fail to see what issue is up for discussion. |

Shaft these things were all discussed before this thread was posted by the admins. We chewed it from all angles and decided to run with what is posted. nothing was willy nilly or thrown out there.
to sum up,
dont do exploits, see 1st post and page for details...topic closed. move along.

In case it already hasn't been mentioned fast weapon switching is an exploit when you use it to avoid the reload time on the sniper rifles. I don't want to hear any whining when you get banned for doing it.
