I'm going to take a look into the damage ratios from pyro rockets-to-demoman health and armor; I'll post back the results here when I get them.

Caulk, what I said was, "#1 by OGL standards." Here's a bit of my (insanely skewered) logic: Hitokiri Battousai (co-creator of NeoTF), he was #2 on OGL. At the time, Alagar (of ClockWork Orange) was #1, but from a bunch of testimonials from people who used to be a member of the Mulch circuit, there was a slew of people who could outdo Alagar, including Battousai.
I'm ABOUT tied with Battousai, in soldiering. We get pretty close in real bouts; they're usually tied right up until the end, 9 at 9 (with OGL rules being 1st to 10).
So, that's my take on it. #1 soldier by OGL standards, not #1 soldier in OGL. And plus, I factor in that I used to train with Danger of Pyroclastic Flow (#1 soldier in PFL, I believe it was...could be wrong on the league). That was one of the things Danger commented on in our first fight, my good aim; if you ever Mulch with me, I might show it to you.
I got a new optical mouse too, trying to adjust to it; it's very slick.

As for competition on the Ville...I think everyone'll see alot of the Darkside there, since we've already met a good deal of people there.

Very impressive site! However you only gave the IP address of org 4. I must ask the darkside clan to come try out org 1. IP: 66.35.137.251 It usually comes on around 5:00 central time. Its map rotation is avanti only and it's non neo. This is where you will find many regulars and I good match. I wish to play against your hotheaded clan.

Avanti only? Hmm, I think that now I need that smiley for mixed feelings Thom was asking for. Not a big fan of Avanti, myself. IV plays Badlands; that's alot of us Darksider's fav. map.

Might stop by though.

Totally agree about coming out to TV 1. It's almost always packed with regs. I think it'd be good for you Darkside boys. Try some non NTF action on one of the greatest TFC maps ever.

sure i'd love to mulch with you sometime. i'm always up for a match with someone good. i like to improve my game cuz i know i have my good days and my not so good days. and i don't mind getting owned either cuz you dont learn too much when you win.

anyhow i read that article you put on your site and i hope you don't just judge the whole ville regulars as people who throw around cheating accusations with no reason behind them. keldorian royal guard isn't some idiot llama and i will respect his opinion when he feels that something is wrong. maybe there was something going on that he didn't see or maybe there was some sort of bug (since something similar to that has happened on warpath before with one team being able to hurt the other team significantly more), but i just want to get to the bottom of it and find out what happened.

finally, nice site...cya round the ville...

Robbie

Emperor,

Understand that every other day people come here and find a way to cheat and still stay under radar. Even in groups as yourself. If I was the only one that noticed, I wouldn't have said anything. However, because the vast majority, including myself, thought there was something fishy going on, a flag went up. It's a matter of looking out for this place and what we have here. We can't be correct every time.

Obviously you are used to this. So I am sure you are not that shocked. I would appreciate all the skill and fun you can bring here fairly. So do not let this incident tarnish your opinion of theville. These are the best public servers out there we "the public" sometimes jump the gun to keep it that way.

My view of the Ville is nowhere near tarnished, no worries there. And oft we do hear things like this, so it's basically something that rolls off our backs.
In the news post I wrote, I told everyone to keep it cool without going overboard on certain things so that it wouldn't draw as much attention (and accusations) as it should. Things like "moving someway others cant." (Check the POTD )

As for detecting cheaters, there's a script out there for servers to detect cheaters; it scans your HD for a list of different hacks and so forth. It doesn't require the client to have any special programs (like Punkbuster, or Cheating Death), and the scanning generally goes unnoticed during play. Unfortunately I have no idea what it's called, but I'll look into it. It auto-kicks the cheaters, BTW; usually before they spawn they're out of the server.

It's currently running on TV 1 and TV 2, soon to be all 6 I understand.

ED, hope you dont mind that, Rob has put a new anti-cheat prog. on TVI. It ran yesterday and will today. It scans the hd and kicks people if anything is found. If it works the way it is planned, it will be pushed to the other TV servers.

As for your abilities, I played for about 10mins with you all last night on Avanti. You guys play well together and made it a "little" difficult to cap on 3. However, I did and I will have to say it was a challange. Nevertheless, I would say no cheating, just that you have played a couple times.

Hope to play with (not against) you guys again on the Ville.

About the new software- I went on 20 minutes after the server started and he said they had already caught a bunch of people. Later it caught killer roof. hehehe.
"they were pulling things so unbelievable they MUST have been cheating"
We said impossible. When im a sniper in the tower and i get a shot from a pyros cannon i get knocked down only 15 points.
Personnaly, when i read this post it seemed to me that you were laughing at us, at how you, the best clan ever, could be chalanged by such a small group of insignificant people. maybe im exaggerating but that is the impression that i get.

To understand these anticheat programs fully, KillerRoof's system was used as a guineapig to test it out and try to evade it. So to set the record straight, no, he wasn't cheating and the info we got back on this new program was invaluable. I'll let Roofcutter explain in detail if he wants to.

What's the name of the program? I'd like to know so that we might set it up on our own server(s). I know that the test version of ClanMod has that feature in it, but if there's a program without the CM, that'd be a great help.

Shoot, reading back on my message, I can see how you might think that. Often I come off like that because we do tend to show off a great deal. Speaking personally, when I wrote that message, my tone wasn't that of being cocky or arrogant, it was just explaining. As I said, what was seen in there was a "silly little show," put on by us, not anyone else. The going all pyro thing, for instance.

Hamese, if you thought getting past CP3 on Avanti was difficult...hehe, Ancalagon and I were just in Osaka, and Blue team was holding it down so well on CP1 that the map ended before they could ever capture it. I took a few pictures for the POTD.
