This game is amazing. Been playing the 2 maps that are out for quite a bit. You should try the demo called "fort".
I have no problem at 1024 size rez at very high detail and effect. The game does prefer nvidia cards. I highly recommend over 2ghz, a 128mb graphics card, and atleast 512mb of ram.
But the graphics and the physics are just simply put priceless.
If you want to see you fps type \r_displayinfo 1.
I am deff going to buy this game.

Ubisoft?? Not in this life or the next. I've recieved more than enough crap from them. Know how most of you hate steam? (I actually like it) Take that hate and double it to find out how much I despise ubisoft.
I downloaded the demo of this game in january, and it didn't work at all. The game would get to the loading screen, and then freeze at around 99%. As it turns out, my ATI card wasn't compatible with it...The menus on the mainscreen were even faulty.
Ubisoft = bug and idiot programming city from the 9th plane of hell. I don't plan on pitching out another $50 on a game that has even a 5% chance of being as faulty as something like shadowbane was. _________________

I think ubisoft is just the publisher. The dev shop is called crytek. The demo was buggy, but I haven't had any problems with the full version as of yet. |

Demo was a bear to run...was so intense on the system you had to set everything to low. That being said here is the deal.
If you are running an ATI card make sure that you have Anti-Aliasing turned "OFF", turning it on creates a lot of issues, most notably crashing at load. This can now be done without loading the game, which is a big fix from the demo version. Also on another ATI issue, make sure you have the latest catalyst drivers, I believe its 3.9 or later. On a Nvidia note, don't try to run this game on a MX card...it is not going to run worth a crap if it actually does run at all.
BTW the game is only $39.95 and worth every stinking penny of it. _________________ {db}Deathbringer

With the new 4.3's thats not an issue anymore. Alot of ppl are running settings in the high area with no problems. Actually the ppl with the 9800's are running 1280 with AA etc etc. |

| i had a problem with textures too high. i guess with only 128 mb video ram, it couldnt cache all the textures, and when i got to an area (level 2 on top of ship) when there were alot of textures it was totally taking a fps hit and consistently trying to recache all the textures. i lowered texture res and it worked great. kinda sad cause i liked high tex. |

Well I know a guy that just bought a new ATI card for this game and has the latest drivers and can not turn on AA, so maybe yes maybe no.
Also for the other guy that was taking a FPS hit, try lowering your "lighting" effects and see if that helps out a little, its the least noticable change and will decrease the source lighting inside and out, which in turn decreases the shadowing which can make a big difference in frame rate. Also on that one scene there is a lot of water reflection, you might try lowering just the water and see what happens. Just a few ideas for tweeking. _________________ {db}Deathbringer
