Very annoyed by Steam

I played DoD all weekend, and I got disconnected at least 20 times, usually when a map is won by either team, on both TV1 and TV4. Usually, about 10 persons get disconnected at the same time in such occurence.

So i'm asking.... WTF IS HAPPENING????

I guess it is steam-relate, as it happens on both 1 and 4.

But I'm very tired of it.

It's something on the server end that sends a bad packet or something.

It hasnt been since the last update.. its been since dod was on steam.

Its very annoying, I been trying to figure it out since day one with no clue how to stop it if its something server side. Both Danno and I have tried everything. From plugins in amx to starting from scratch, etc. All plugins, modules and updates are current.

Lets put it this way.. I have been so upset with it, that one night a couple months ago I turned off the server for hours (tv4) because I needed to cool off. I was DONE. So mad I really didnt want to turn it back on. I considered changing it over to Natural Selection or something else because its VERY fusterating seeing your own server drop clients for NO reason. I felt better after Merf, Danno and the other admins telling me even though there is a problem, the server is still one of the best ranked in the world, so dont worry.

Both servers are in different locations, with different hardware, and different T1 providers. The 2 systems barely break a sweat with DoD so its not that either. So its either AMX, Steam, DOD's code or something we are totally missing which I doubt.

I just dont know what to say..

update now I'm lucky to go 2 maps before my comp locks up. 9 out of 10 times I quit or disconnect my comp locks up. This only happened on rare occasions prior to the last steam #Fist

update. So I don't think this has anything to do with your server, it happens no matter what server I play.

Back up a second the Silver don't get your knickers in a knot heehee

Like the others are saying it's become soooooooo much worst since the last update so I don't think it has anything to do with the servers. Esp since I'm having the same problem on both 1 and 4 which tells me that it has to be steam related.

Yeah before the last update you got booted every once in awhile but now now it's almost every map and I have been kicked 6 times in a row as soon as I pick a team. So as everyone else said I don't think it is the server it's something todo with the last update thats when I started having the problems and I do believe 99.9% of the other people as well.

Another thing that I have noticed is that STEAM.exe and HL.exe are both running at the same time and I never noticed the HL.exe running before the last update. The only process that was running when I had STEAM running before was STEAM.EXE

Yeah I was having problems, too. My game actually crashed and it hasn't done that in a while.

I think its steams way of saying...try new games

This is not a good time to alienate the players, lots of new games are here or just around the bend.
