Ok, so I figured that Musician's Friend hadn't gotten a plug in the forums for a little while now, and as I just bought a new case and guitar stand from them, I figured I'd take the liberty of reminding all the aspiring musicians, and/or those who want to be aspiring musicians, that MF has some great stuff for sale at good prices (even if they didn't carry my Dean EVO Special Select Lefty).

Oh yeah, and they are the ones that help to bring us TV VI (City 17)

Anyone can at least play one instrument. I bet you can play an egg shaker! What would Aerosmith's "Sweet Emotion" be without the egg shaker intro?

chica chica chica chica chica chica chica chica chica chica chica chica

And yes, Musician's Friend is super keen.

Personally, I think he could probably do well with the cowbell. WHo here doesn't remember the SNL Sketch with Will Farrell impersonating Blue Oyster Cult recording Don't Fear the Reaper? Blown, I'm sure you could do almost as well!

Yeah I looked through one of their catalogues and they have a big selection. Their server is cool, too.

That's a classic skit!! Just remember when someone asks you what you think of a certain song, just reply "I think it needs more cowbell"

All depends on what style of music you are into/want to play.

I learned on a Stratocaster and still play one to this day. I play an Ironbird when I want to thrash but I can't imagine learning guitar on one.

Strats are definitely easy to learn on because the strings are so easy to manipulate. At the same time, any mistake you make is totally audible.

Mostly, I recommend getting a decent guitar over anything. If you buy something super cheap, you won't be happy with it once you learn how to play.

The most affordable/decent guitar out there is probably one of the high end Fender Squires. They sound pretty good and can always be upgraded with better pickups/hardware down the road. Although Strats do not like "other" tremelo systems. For example; to upgrade to a Floyd Rose tremelo, you would have to bore out the body etc etc. I do not rely heavily on certain types of wood simply because so much of my sound is not natural (pedals and such). That's the main difference between a standard American Srat and a Squire (the wood). You probably have no Earthly idea what I'm talking about though.

First decide what music you enjoy, then decide what guitar you want to buy. There are so many variables in different guitars these days, it's insane.

Probably the best for everyone around you, would be an acoustic.

I'm sure that all your family was loving you a lot when you was practicing your trumpet at home...! #Crazy #Splat

I was playing trumpet too at high school and I never bring it home to practice. I ended my year with a big 46%.

Who cares!!!
