I got an email from the college I got accepted to with the title being "pics from my party"...then I also got an email saying that this was a mistake and their system got hacked and that the emails contained a potential virus...could this be the same thing?...I need to know cause I opened the email that possibly had a virus and I have no computer knowledge whatsoever so I have no idea how to tell if I have a virus or not. Thanks in advance to anyone willing to help me out here

Thanks a lot Snaggle you saved me a lot of aggravation lol. I didn't click on the link cause I found it wierd that a admissions group (on an automatic email) would have a party. I deleted it as soon as I read the whole "may have virus" thing. I know that much about computers at least...viruses are bad. Thanks again

Jaredmonkey, The second email you got was more than likely a legit email from the Mail Admin or might have been generated automatically by one of there antivirus servers just to warn you of what happend, my guess is the warning email was just that and you should be fine. If they sent you a copy of the email for reference, the virus is cleaned from the mail so it does not spread it. as was said earlier if you just deleted the first email without clicking the link you should be straight
