Is WWII online free to download or do you have to buy it? Is there a website I can go to to check it out?

It ain't free - it's whatever the regular price is for a new game in the US. And once it gets going properly it'll be $10 month.
Until then it's free to play online.

I've tried Quake II & III, other half-life mods including CS, DOD, Firearms, but TFC is the only game I really play. Tried dogfighting online w/ Red Baron and MS combat flight sim, but never played enough to get very good at it.
I am curious, though, have any of you tried Tribes (also by Sierra)? Just wondering what it's like. Have talked to poeple who swear by it. It is combat on a large scale, with ground troops, aircraft, etc. Has voice com too. |

Of course TFC takes up 90% of my onlin gaming time, but with other mplayers games I prefer direct IP connections with buddies to play the following choice mplayer games :-
Need For Speed Porsche Unleashed
Red Alert
Fifa 2001 soccer
Flight Sim 2000
Delta Force 2

OK, Only talking online Multi-player games here..(I play lots of others)
Quake and Quake II
StarCraft Broodwars (Still playing it after all these years) (CyCoMoms fav game)
AOE The Conquerers (was in an online league and got owned)
Diablo and Diablo II - (but not expansion yet)
Unreal Tournament (till the aimbot ruined my fun)
Tried Tribes II but didn't like it
CS and Frontline for a short period (too many CS cheats and no patience for frontline)
Kohan Immortal Soveriegn
And of course TFC
I prefer RTS games, like FPS and tolerate RPG games, but really like the Teamplay of TFC. I might be getting older, but they can't make me grow up !! Of course it helps when you are married to someone who likes games as well

Hmmm...I have played in a few.
Fighter Ace during the beta test on the Zone. I also played Fighter Ace 2, and made it up to Major before I got tired of paying for it.
Starcraft Brood Wars, but I never did like playing it on the fast speed most seem to enjoy on there.
Doom and Doom 2 were always favorites of mine. Also did Aliens Vs. Predator online a couple of times. Not a bad game really.
Never played Diablo II online, but I do have it...still need to finish it.
I have played Baldur's Gate I and II with friends online. Two of my favorites by far.
Overall, TFC is my favorite online game though!

I almost forgot 2 of my favorite mods, science and industry and vampire slayer. Although in vampire slayer too many people camp in the daylight, but it's all good because I sneak up on em and kill em anyway |

I just downloaded and installed "Day Of Defeat". It is a halflife mod available from fileplanet or check here:
http://www.zeroping.com/dod/index.cfm?CFID=182797&CFTOKEN=61614344
It's a rather large DL so if you can DL a 90+ meg file, I would check it out.
It is a bit similar to Firearms and CS but you don't have to wait until the round is over to respawn. I started playing it last night, and got my @ss kicked hard. It's not an easy game to master, so expect to get severly beaten the first time you play.

It is a pretty nifty little mod. I just can't seem to pull myself away from it when the TV servers are down during the day. Hard to master this one.

TV II ran as a DoD server for a while. It was a Snowtown only server. This was a while ago back when DoD was in beta.
