What is your motherboard, the chipset is on the motherboard not the CPU.

You would be wanting to update your chipset drivers, you would need to download the latest drivers from the motherboard manfacturer to do that and I would suggest leaving it until after you tweak your ram, run spybot, tweak your connection at dslreports and then run msconfig to see whats loading at startup and eating resources that doesnt need to be.

I use a handy program called CPU-Z, which lets you know what version of your drivers (including mobo and bios) you have installed. It also has some system reasource information that might be helpful. I don't know if this is what you're asking, but you can get it free at downloads.com.

But definately take JDs advice and pick through your msconfig, that'll speed you up a lot

I used to play PS (I am assuming that your PS = Planetside), and I had large amounts of large with a 2Ghz processor. So, I upgraded my video card from a 32 MB NVidia to a 128 MB Radeon 9200 and it worked over 500% better.

I would investigate this instead of your drivers.
