Yeah, those'd be the ones, I beleive it does make a difference when you only have the 2 slots like that you want to space them out, if only for heating purposes as well. It's easy to do anyways, and if it has a problem with it (it shouldn't) you can always just put it right back where it was.

i wouldnt do it. memory is meant to start in slot 0 and be inserted sequentially. although some memory/board combonations wont have issues, many will. some wont boot at all, but others will just crash randomly leaving you wondering. thats my experience at least.

Unless you are installing a new motherboard then your slots will already have at least one dimm module installed, if this is the case then install the new memory module into the empty slot next to the module that is already installed.

If your motherboard does not have any memory installed then refer to your motherboard's manual for details about which slot to use.

cheaply stolden from an online guide...the important item is....RTFM...

Well I know his particular board allows it. That's why the 1st and 3rd slots are both blue.

Aye, its a dual channel supporting board and chipset also the ram was a certified dual channel kit. Get the ram in the matching slots to get the performance gains of the dual channel config.
